Brett Stewart and hodges? That's at least 600 k of your cap gone! So the rest are sharing a million then?
You are totally out of touch with what marquee nrl players earn, how strong the Aussie $ is Against the pound, what they can also earn outside the cap as the game is so massive over here. and how much of a $hit hole Wigan and most of the uk is compared to manly, brisi and most of Australia.

Well it is nice to dream.
We could just bring in duffers like Weller Hauraki and Ben Cross instead. Nothing wrong with a bit of fantasy.

Weller was awesome for crusaders last season and obviously filled a whole in our cap. I was very much underwhelmed by signing Cross but we needed a prop due to the JP injury at Cas the last week in august, we found out late in the season there was little on the Market. I would have rather given Amor and ambler game time but I'm just a punter who doesn't even go to the games now.
Donald, kylie, Delaney, hauarki cross! Leeds have for a few seasons have brought in average nrl players and looked to get value out of them. Donald and kylie were/are awesome Delaney has promise so does Weller! I'm not sold on cross.
But with the strength of the Aussie $ average nrl players in the next few years is all we are gonna get as a league! we should all
Hope the turn out to be quality like Donald, kylie, Carmont , Richards

To be fair, Huaraki would have been a decent signing for a team trying to make up the top 8, he is a poor signing for a team with the credentials of leeds. Mind you we have done alright out of a relitive unknown in Carmont, so i am prepared to give him the benifit of the doubt.
Cross offer's very little and seems more concerned with picking on the little fellas. I suppose Leeds need a bit of biff with Peabrain being injured, but swinging for Sam is laughable.

I think 99.9 % of players love to smash sam! A because he's a big threat but B because he's seen as the player who cheats with snide tactics(all the arm locks milking pens)! Overtaken Bailey and big willie as the most hated player in the game because of his skill and his cheating.

And for all that smashing of him, how many times has he left the field because of it?
Takes everything given to him and comes back for more, (usually to have the last laugh). Possibly "pound for pound" one of the toughest players in SL. I mean you don't see many 11 stone players get up from being hit hard by a 17 stoner do you?

Huaraki has been hot and cold in a hot and cold team! For the main part Leeds have been totally $hit house! It's unfair to judge the new boys, cross included until the team pulls it's finger out. I think huaraki is quality. As I said I've never been a cross fan

He does cheat, that is fair enough.
Thing is though EVERY SINGLE PLAYER IN THE GAME will try and bend the rules. Sam does show frustration when it is not coming off for him, better to do that than crowd the ref like Sinfield, Burrow or McGuire.
The amount of people getting there knickers in a twist because this youngster is copying the Sinfield trick of holding a players arm (something that has been happening for decades).
I don’t have a problem with poophousing, scrapping or anything of that ilk, because RLs a man’s game and certain men like to hurt other men. I do have real issues with the amount of petty bile that flows through this forum by a bunch of self righteous fairies on here and the VT.
There are grown adults on theses forums making complete bottoms of themselves because the BEST young English player tries it on now and again.
I would be embarrassed to post the cr@p0la that some seem fit to do.

I agree for the most part tomkin is as tough as they come. But hull, wire, Leeds have got in to him and he has been much less effective. With a player with that much talent he's gonna get it more and more. If you can take 25% of his game it helps! I don't think his snide side does him any favours but that's his game far play to the kid. But there is no doubt sl clubs have seen how to beat Wigan! Thanks st George! obviously doing it is a different story as we found out on Friday! If we had a bit more luck we could have beaten you by 20 with half a team! As it happend you showed you champion spirt and took a point! again massive respect

Nar mate the amount of stick newton, cockyane, Todd Flanders, fozzard, bailey, McGuire, sinfield, Webb, morley, Sculthorpe, Cunningham, pryce, Mason have got from you lot and other fans of all clubs is no different from Tomkin(sam)

Nah, got a heart the size of a pea. He only had to fall over to score them. Besides, he looks like he doesn't want to play, just loping around stealing a living. Never a Wigan player. Thank fook we never saw any potential in him and signed him from Union when he was crocked.

You think what Leeds did was effective on him?
Did you see his chip over the top? He moved to 6 in attack and took hold of the game, the Leeds players stood off him.
He ran straight through the line to set up for the kick at the end. They tried to niggle him and he kept coming back at them and Leeds didn't like it. He then kicked the goal to draw the game, do you really think he would have done that if Leeds had 'got in to him'.
From a Wigan POV, the best way to deal with Sam is how wire did. Simply read when he is running around the back and put two men on him and get your centre to cover if he gets the ball away. Easier said than done though.
He made the Leeds team look stupid, Cross, Danny B, Bailey etc. were at him all game, it didn't get to him, this is why we all know and all other fans know he is the hottest prospect this country has seen in the backs for a VERY long time. He will not go hiding when we play Aus, he will win games for England in future because of his ability to deal with the pressure and the niggles. Last season Ablett tried to take his head off, I have seen big forwards go off the field for less than that and he got up.
All the fuss about Tomkins tells me one thing, it is a sign of respect. It is not a player people hate for being an idiot like Bailey or Hock when he returns or even Newton when he hit Long...... Tomkins is a talent and every fan of every other team wishes they had a young player just as good.... if they don't wish that then I dare them to watch what he can do to teams and then come back and tell me the same.

| In an ideal world for me our best 17 next year would be:
1. Sam Tomkins
2. Darrell Goulding
3. Matt Cooper - 2 year deal to come and teach Charnley the way, goulding would score another 20+ alongside him. just what we need.
4. Tom Briscoe - 3 years, great player. would love to see him in cherry and white.
5. Pat Richards
6. Brett Finch
7. Tommy Leuluai
8. Stu Fielden
9. Micky McIlorum
10. Paul Prescott
11. Ryan Hoffman
12. Liam Farrell
13. Sean O'Loughlin
14. Gaz Hock
15. Joel Tomkins
16. Lee Mossop
17. Jeff Lima/Harrison Hansen
