Talk about causing an argument out of nothing. All he did was gave a couple of examples of players who were willing to come to SL.. No need to get arsy about it.

Just noticed that Justin Poore is off contract, the St George prop. A player I rate highly and the right age (25-26). On the fringes of the Australian team last year and someone who will improve further. Would be worthwhile to enquire about him in my opinion.

If we get the backline sorted first, then the forwards once Fielden as left/retired. I think our 6 and 7 are abit young, and we need someone with a lot of experience, that’s why I’d bring Orford in. Tomkins and T. Smith, would benefit greatly from him. With Leuluai learning from Riddell, to take the helm of that role in the future.
I think Phelps and Richards fill the Fullback role well but they lack the real FB knowledge of positioning and communication with the wingers, always at risk of the good old 40-20, the little chip over the top, stuff like that.
Once the mighty Fielden as gone, then we’ll have the money to sign a decent GB prop or even two! And concentrate on the forward pack to start trying to match the Saints/Leeds/Catalan size.
Please don’t laugh but, once Carmont as gone, I think he’ll be replaced by Pryce, and him and Ainscough, I believe will be future GB numbers 4 and 5. High hopes, but the talent throughout the Wigan side is there!!

I beg IL to pay whatever it takes to get Darren Lockyer over here. Perhaps offer Fielden as part of a swap deal...

The Myler thing came from a comment that on the Salford board there was interest in him from Wigan. Who wouldn't be interested in him?

McRae was saying last week that they could do with more money. They could get a fortune for Myler. Also with the HMRC hunting Rugby League clubs for £100ks in back tax for EBT's and Image Rights there maybe few clubs with ready cash to offer. As Wigan won't be one of the hunted maybe Ian Lenagan should become a hunter and prey on clubs short on cash, and going to be a whole lot shorter after the tax man has sorted them out, but rich in talented players.

It would be a risk with two young half backs but that would depend on the props brought in. If IL & BN got their enforcer or perhaps two then they would be their minders.
As for Poore he's good I'm told, I like Jamal Fakir at the Catalans. He's big, can play prop and 2nd row he's also some enforcer too!
Myler would be great but the priority has to be props at the moment.
Depending who goes through the departure lounge and the salary crap cash available we should be able to afford two props and a bulky, mobile 2nd rower. Our pack needs size and aggression only signings will achieve this.
