I’d go for Mikey Lewis before Abdul. Looks a genuine talent but not sure he’d get in front of Smith if the current coaching regime is to continue with Peet. Would be a decent appointment if we could attract Tony Smith too!

From what people are saying Miller will happen, id rather we waited to see what became available next year and looked to give someone a 1 year deal for next year, whether that be Tommy L or maybe someone like Dec Patton?

Well i know the fb forums have to be taken with a pinch of salt but a couple of days ago I was having a conversation about rumours and a paticular poster was adament that we looking for a fed trained player rather thn using a quota spot on a half back and he name he said that would be announced (according to his source..yeah that old chestnut) was Gale with Tommy stepping up as attacking coach. The other thing mentioned was it wouldnt be Peet as head coach but Winder with Briers as his assistant. Its personally think its all guess work, we will go with Peet and Briers and if we dont sign Miller we'll go with waht weve got in Smith and Field

If all that was true, it would be curtains for me. If the club is deliberately trying to implode than i'd rather not watch it happen.

Injuries aside Gale is a better player than Miller.

Just a few posts from the Leeds forum before the game this week! He seems like a bloke who has to be centre of attention, though I think he's been knocked down a few pegs by Leeds this year.

Fair enough. I would never have seen those comments as I don’t venture outside of this forum. He’s never struck me as that type of character but then again I’ve never paid much attention to him.

Gale is still a better player than Miller, regardless of what a few Leeds fans (who have always been critical of him) think.

Someone mentioned Trueman, but he's planning on going to the NRL when his current deal ends, which is why Leeds didn't want to pay a few for him a few months ago..

For all of Wigan's problems, I think the pack and 3/4s should be the priority before the halves.

We're in danger of literally not having the numbers in the halves if we aren't careful.

Gale and Smith wouldn’t work.

Both play the same organising role and won’t compliment each other.

The only thing going for Gale over Miller is the fact he isn’t a quota player.

Ģale like many players has had a stop start season due to injuries, suspension and covid. He was also dropped for throwing his toys out of the cot and stripped of the captaincy after a training ground spat.
But there isn't a Leeds fan I know that doesn't believe Leeds are a far better team with a fully fit Gale in it. Wrong to say we have turned on him after a few posts, but it is correct to question his fitness. He does miss lots of games for one reason or another.

I couldn’t say whether Gale/Field would work. In theory yes but we all know that’s a world away from reality. Ideally it would have been Gale/Hastings.

The quota is the main reason I can buy into this rumour.

My concern with Gale would be that we would be buying a bit of an old crock again. He's 33.

Rather have Benji! Probably played more rugby than Gale this season. And got more assists.

Gale I can see happening I doubt wether uncle Gary at Leeds would want a spare halfback on the books so must surely be looking to offload him,yes it’s be a gamble but at this point Wigan have painted themselves into a corner and gambles are all that’s left?

I agree with you on that in all honesty and if we didn’t need a HB (I’ve come round to the idea) I’d definitely be in that mindset. If Benji were available we’d be daft not to consider hun but I don’t think he is?

Benji would be a crowd pleaser. I’d be happy with Smith, Tommy & Marshall then look to recruit a long term half 2023 onwards .

No doubt on the shortlist given he's previously played for the club.

Unbelievable really. Though he was decent at the back end of 2020, he’s been a shadow of his old self this year. Even defensively he’s been poor.

Even more unbelievable is that we’re going into the off-season with us still looking for a top halfback and head coach?

Considering Radlinski said that he does most of his retaining and recruitment in June, fast forward 3 months to the fans forum and he says we’re still trying to fill the 2 most important roles in the club.
