I remember the pitch being really bad last year surely, the "powers that be" should look at other venues with better pitches and give other local amateur clubs the opportunity of hosting the competition rather than the same club year in year out.

That pitch was bordering dangerous last night....aswelll as being as hard as Asda car park, it also had pot holes all around the middle of the pitch, some 3/4 inches deep, deadly on the ankles. I pointed it out to the ref.

Summer rugby.......not for me unless sides invest in decent sprinklers!

Can raise a team mate and were gonna give it a right good go. Gonna be honest and say that we are gettin on for ten lads short of our strongest 17, but I think you men might already know were struggling. It's one of the lad s stag do. But no excuses.....we entered it knowing this so were just gonna have to live with it, got a few young keen lads from the second team ready to step up. So we will see....were looking forward to it.

Good to hear Pats have won. Just looked at your profile, I don't envy you sitting near "Bonehead". I haven't bumped into Brian at any away games this year. Does he sit in the East Stand?

Shaun Edwards was also in attendance last night although he did leave after about 60min.

I'd be all for moving the Ken Gee Cup around different grounds every year.

1 year at IRB, next at St Pats, year after St Judes etc etc

IRB must make a killing come KGC time.

Places like Hindley and Spring View also have the facilities to host it, more so than at St Judes where you can walk to the pitch from all angles.

Not sure why it is always at Bridge and neither are most people I speak to about it. Nothing against them but it is strange.

maybe its something to do with the fact that the ground is enclosed and there are only 2 ways in.....both lockable........other grounds every tom , dick and harry can walk on without paying.......plus they are open for dogs to run on the pitch. I think in my years of watching at these grounds round wigan IRB is the only place i havnt seen dog muck on the pitch.....except when they use Willy Fosters

having said that ..nowhere can be as bad as waterhead.......there were cows t!ng on the pitch before the game........
