| Quote ="NickyKiss"Surely that can't happen the way that the triangle of Smith, Leuluai and Sam are playing and rotating along with a starting hooker.
It wouldn't suprise me though as i'm not sure if Noble will have the nuts to tell Riddell he'll have to wait his chance for a place.'"
Will he heckers like..........Aussie Favourates will keep their place over young talent. Riddell for me shouldnt make the 17 in the form he's shown this season...he bearly does as many minutes as feka FFS and has little or no impact!! I would bet £100 though that one of Mcillurum or Sam Tompkins will miss out on sat!! This is Mr NoBalls we are talking about!!

| Quote ="cmscwarn"I have heard that its due to Seans contract, once he make a certain amount of 1st team games then his wage increases. This wouldve been fine if it where not for the signing of a Mr gleeson which by all accounts has taken us to the limit of the salary cap.
As a result noble is probably saving sean for when injurys hit the squad.
could be wrong but thats what i heard'"
tbh i think this is close to the truth, but not quite. As far as I understand it if a player plays over 12 games he has to be counted for 20:20 or 25:20 or 'god knows what it is now' purposes the following season! Therefore there may be some truth in this as it may be the case that we dont want to play sam and shaun too much so they will not be entitled to such an increase in wages next season.
If thats the case its still a disgrace IMO as we're expecting them both to hang around next season, while they are both EASILY up to the standard of SL and remain on their paltry wages of approximately 10-12k per year!!!! Especially when we still have wasters in the club like Karl Pryce, Riddell (on current showing) etc. We're just asking for union to come and poach them and we'll lose two of wigans best looking products for the last 10 years for a lazy 5hyte of a jolly green giant and a Pie advert!!
Quote ="cherrywarrior"Please not Riddell though, he obviously isnt fit, he should be given time to recover and get match fit again, not risking him in a cup match!'"

How can you possibly say Noble's selection was vindicated just because we won? Not playing ainscough didn't make the difference, the team playing for once did!! Ainny would have scored both of the tries paddy did, so the only difference would have been would pat have kicked 7 from 7 playing full back?!?! Oooohhhhh, somehow i think he might not have you know!!
:lol
Thus, Ainny being dropped had no bearing, who says he wouldnt have scored 4 had he played and we'da put 50 on saints'"
And you know that how? Crystal ball? See into the alternate realities that co-exist with ours? Expert in quantum physics and choas theory are we? (just pulling your leg btw!) However we can't just ignore the fact that a 6' 4" Pat Richards at full stretch only just got to one of them for a start!
Look, I'm not saying we would/wouldn't have been any better/worse with Ainscough in the side. Just like you, I couldn't possibly know!

All you're doing is ranting - and from a position of what sounds suspiciously like complete ignorance. I'm sure those salaries you quote have been plucked from thin air.
Just for the record, Sam and Mike Mc are both in the squad. Pryce isn't.
I'm not Noble's biggest fan, but your schoolboy tone is actually pushing me into his corner.
Can you not see that there's at least a case for selecting the same team that butchered the league leaders last week?

There is no 20:20 or 25:20 anymore
Riddell is a class player, Pryce is coming back from a serious injury.
I suppose you think we should have matched Northamptons offer for Ashton, who by the way has been dropped for disciplinary reasons, and also kept one trick Mick.

| It's only right, should be the same team as Saint's! Riddell shouldn't be picked in my eyes.
Seriously people are worrying over Ainsy!!!
Don't.... Speak to the lad, his heart and soul is with this club, he's over the moon at being up for a chance of selection at his age, nevermind the fact he loves training with all the top guys and that.. Going no where!!!!

Given he is contracted to us for next year i doubt that will be the case. I have been championing the kid for a while now i think he should have played last year, but i can understand why he is not picked, as can he it seems.
Next year he must be a first choice pick, this year i can appreciate that he may have to sit out a few rounds.

| He knows, he can improve 100%, and with his current staff he believe's that can happen, he isn't 100% Super League quality yet!!
People may argue with that, but play young lads to much and the pressure can tell, with the likes if C. Riley, K. Penny!!
Were as people like Ryan Hall, were at the stage of Ainsy last year, slowly being developed into the super league, and now Hall is a first teamer!! Ainsy well be on that wing next year and the year after and for many contracts and years after them!!
Noble is doing an awesome job with the fella!! The same may happen to Tomkins in a few months, if Smith,Tommy,Mikey and Riddell are all playing awesome, Sam maybe given a slight back seat has both of them are abit Super League RAW!!

| This is a must win game, just as much if not more than last week, Noble has to pick the team he thinks will win it, we need a strong cup run and to get to Wembley! Lets reserve judgement, whatever the reason. Yes i feel sorry for the lad but his chances will come, he has a great future in front of him!

I can't see the logic in the above. If you don't think Riddell should play i.e. a senior pro walking right back into the side in place of a young player who had a great game in his place, why should Ainscough not have kept his place the week before?
The not changing a winning team argument doesn't wash because he changed the winning team from Wakefield.
Ainscough should have played last week and just because he didn't doesn't mean not playing him week is right as well.
We must be the only team in the league with a coach stupid enough not to select not only the teams but the leagues its top try scoring player.

But Brian Noble got it right last week by dropping Ainscough, didn't he?
To be fair to Noble, he might get it right this week again but Riddell and McIlorum are both solid number 9's and neither IMO are effective impact hookers unlike Thomas Leuluai, who should replace McIlorum/Riddell at 9 and then allow Sam Tomkins to fill in at 7.

If you had 2 established wingers in your riversiders team and one week a young 17 year old lad filled in due to one of them picking up a knock and scored 4 tries would you pick him the week after???
