i watched the tackle back on Warriors TV and tried to slow it right down

in real time you dont even see the tackle, its only in the replays where they focus on it

Wardle is poised and moving in a forwards direction to make the tackle. He is a fraction of a second late, as the ball has gone. He however, does not hit him high, or shoulder charge. If GoB still had the ball in his hands it would virtually have been a perfect tackle. Where he could perhaps have helped himself was if he completed the tackle by wrapping his arms around him and taking him to ground. Instead he sort of hits him and turns to make the next tackle

Last Thursday i saw a team playing with cohesion and everyone left it out there. If they do the same on Friday but still get beat then fair enough because as much as they are rivals, Saints are a very good side we all know that. Better than us but i believe those tides are turning slowly but surely as both sides head in different directions of transition. I just hope both teams start and finish with 13 men on the pitch and give us a spectacle. The dry weather forecast should ensure it is a cracker and derby week has started today for me. Agree the tide is turning slightly, we were nowhere near them in 2021. But last year we played 4 and won 2. We won convincing at home and won the only “must win” game in the semi final. We got beat convincingly on Good Friday and the magic game could have gone either way.

Hamstring injuries must be a horrible mental challenge for pacey players - particularly when they've had a history of them.

Walmsley out for 4 weeks with a hamstring injury so he misses it too. Sad that 2 of our games best players aren't playing.

If KPP does play centre, with King as his wing partner, Peet should have Smith practicing his high kicks to the right wing all week.

If Marshall is out, KPP at centre, King over to the wing and Singketon on to the bench. I’d give Astley his shot but do fully expect Powell to start in there. It’s easy for me to say we shouid throw a kid in mind.

I think throwing in an academy spine player with next to no first team experience into a derby with 24k watching is perhaps too big of a risk. Though perhaps Luke Hooley's horror show against Hull KR might be clouding my judgement on that.

Possibly right. He’d be a little less exposed in the halves, than the Leeds fullback was but it wouldn’t be an easy day for him. I just think it’s an occasion that has a history of young players standing up early in their careers and if we trust him, we should give him at least a bench spot. As I say though, it’s easy to say as a nostalgic fan, with a memory of kids doing well in the fixture in the past.

On a different note, I’ve just been reading a couple of rumours on Twitter that Faz may also be out. Let’s hope they stay as rumours, or else things do become extremely challenging.

I also did say that Marshall would play. Peet admits he has a good chance of playing.
