The fireworks don't have to set off from inside the stadium, they can be aimed to explode above the ground from outside. I think they did the same against Salford about 5-6 years ago in the first home game of the season.

They also have set fireworks off outside the ground for international games.

Only a minute into the game and "Andre Stoop" our full back couldn't see the ball for the smoke and dropped it.

Yep news just broke that St George have committed. They will play their Charity Shield on Feb 13th, another friendly on Feb 18th then us as scheduled.

This means they won't have a warm up game in the UK and will travel here 8 days before the match, training at first in London then Manchester.

The Wigan priority period ends on Saturday and I think I'm right in saying they will go on general sale at Wigan and the RFL from next Monday.

I know the game's on and that's great but I do think its interesting to point out a contradiction in this Australian article. The newspaper claims the Dragons had a contractual obligation to play in the WCC in the same article in which the chief exec of the Dragons is quoted as saying the game was purely an option.

It's a shame they don't have a warm-up game that would have been a great oppertunity for Crusaders to get a big crowd down the racecourse IMO.
