I'm pretty sure if Wigan went over again it could be an even bigger attendance, especially against Brisbane or one of the other big clubs.

The game in brisbane was 16 years ago,if the aussies were so in love with the wcc why hasn't on been held there since, rightly or wrongly the aussie public believe the english game to be highly inferior to theirs, don't take my word for it though go and check out various aussie rugby leauge forums and you'll soon get the impression I get,the view our game as a sort of concert hall joke

| When we went over to Brisbane it was before summer rugby here so we'd finished our season and the Broncos were in the middle of theirs.
Since we went to summer rugby it is a pre season for them and our club are usually only into their 2nd or 3rd game of the season.
Also when we were in winter rugby although we couldn't win a series against the Aussies in a 3 match series but so often it was 2-1 to the green and golds. Since we are now all full time clubs with SL we are not losing 2-1 but something like 14 or 15-1. The Aussie public won't take us seriously until we can at least give them a game and start beating them frequently. We now seem further away from that than ever. After our hapless display v the Kiwis no wonder they think RL in this country is a joke.
On the BBC stats England had 33 missed tackles and there was a 62% completion rate. How can we ask to be taken seriously with stats like that? Those players don't play that badly for their clubs but they often do for their country.
Wigan could have done with going down under to play them at SFS. A win would have really put them on the back foot. A win here and all their excuses come out.

Are you stupid? You've just been told the only WCC final held in Aus so far drew over 50k. Nobody cares what some bitter Latics fan thinks

| For one I'm not bitter, and you've just been given perfectley good reasons why the game won't be in australia and embraced by the australian public, and why do you feel the need to keep banging on about the latics if you don't care about them, argue the point in question which is why despite attracting a 50k plus crowd in 1994 the wcc has not been played over there since

| [iI just can't see the point of this.
The fact is that the aussies have not wanted this competition there until now.
Suddenly a Wigan win and they know they will get a crowd to turn up for the game.
Well its a simple one.
Yes, it would be a lot fairer if it was held down there every other year.
Any reasonable person would agree with that.
But we will start that next year thank you very much.
They should not get to pick and choose when they fancy having the game and when they cant be bothered.
how the hell these convicts ever call us whingers is beyond me.
all they ever want to do is change rules and move goal posts to suit themselves.[/i

Hope you are correct.
Can't afford Auz in Feb for two of us, and could not get enough time off work.
Can't see the point of playing at the Reebok, we should play it at home.
Also how long would it take Big Mike to drive a mini bus to Sydney ????????????? and when would Finch's double decker have to set off ? Tomorrow !!!!!!

| I'll can tell you with confidence that it is set for Wigan. It's not going to be a cheap night though for us in the touchline stands. Expect full confirmation & details during this week.

| If Man U finish 3rd in their Champions League Group the only game being play at the DW on the 27th Feb will be Latics v Man U. Until it's clear which European competition Man U are playing the midweek before (if any), there's no point saying anything, otherwise we may have to change the date or venue which would be embarrassing.

Not for me to say. All I'll say is if your wanting to sit in the middle of the East/West Stands it'll cost far, far more than normal because this is an RFL event not a normal Wigan matchday.

We had this conversation today, as its a RFL event it will more than likely be test match prices. The winner will receive a cash prize as well as the trophy. All that will come from the match day revenue and sponsorship. Wigan RLFC wont make a single penny other than winning/loosing pay even though it is to be played at the DW stadium. IIRC it cost £20 to sit in the South Stand for the last test match played there.

| North and South stands will be packed then, I just hope people are willing to pay 30-40 to sit along the sides.
I guess we took around 35-40k to the grand final so you would hope people would pay the same or a little more to come to a bigger game closer to home!

You can double that for the Middle of the East & West.

| and guess what will happen? WE WONT SELL OUT!!! The test match last year @ DW was embarassing, the amount of empty seats was freightening. The official attendance certainly didnt match the amount of fans in the stadium.
The RFL take the phase 'As numb as a stone' to a whole new level.

| The Grand Final is the qualifying match for the WCC.
Some people paid £60 for the Grand Final, so £40 for the BEST seats is not unreasonable. It should hopefully sell out and I just hope that we get a chance to purchase our normal seats. All seats will be reserved so it could be ground record
Wigan will get a share of the receipts (I'm not sure of the percentage).
I'm sure details will be revealed shortly.
