Go to the next fans forum and air your views, but do it respectfully. I've never known any questions get dodged, but you may not get the answers that you want.

Since noble and lenaghan have been in charge the squad is much stronger and it's young, salary cap monies is more wisely spent, our youth teams are booming and getting a chance, marketing and other business areas have improved.

Some ppl will continue to moan about red herrings, but the fact is the club has moved forward a lot since the mess it was 3 years ago. Noble leaves us in a strong position.

This is the one area that I just cannot work out.

Nobby's playing style revolves around a big pack laying down the platform for the backs. At Wigan we have one of the weakest packs around.


Now maybe this was all down to Nobby, if so then that's fair enough, but somehow I just cannot see it.

I have never once stated nor hinted that the reason i do not like him was because of the first time i saw him. I said i did not like something about him from day one. The more ive heard from him and the more ive seen him ive formed my own opinion thats hes an self promoting,obnoxious,surly little man. Is that easy enough for you to understand?

According to folk in the anvil last night IL hasnt paid Whelen what hes owes him and we could go back under Whelen control. Dont know how true it is, suppose time will tell.

Whilst other clubs seem to be going from strength to strength with signing for 2010 we have sat back and in reality are going to have the same squad as this season. IL has made it very clear that we can expect no signings for next season, he seems to be obessed with filling the side with local players. A team full of Wiganers is his vision. Although this would nice, and no doubt would made everyone proud. We simply wont challenge for anything with this attitude.

We are 2 or 3 world class players away from becoming title worthy.

One thing Lenaghan has done well is make sure we do not break the salary cap every year. The annual points deductions for breaking the rules were an embarrassment.

Criticising signings is one thing but let's be honest nobody on here knows for certain whether Lenaghan or Noble was the driving force behind recruitment for the last couple of seasons. It's the kind of thing that will be easier to judge of Lenaghan stays for the long term and works with a few different coaches.

Live is a very interesting term to be honest. What the current cap does do is base things on estimates, assumptions, and blocks of payment. There's actually quite a bit of scope to pay out more than the £1.6 million but still not actually 'break' it.

e.g. a £1000 per appearance bonus can either count as £18,000 (the assumption used should be 18 qualifying matches) or if you pay the same amount as £7,000 per 7 games, it's only £14,000 as there's only 2 blocks of 7 in the 18.

You can also pay more if you win things, as competition prize money can be exempt.

And manage to be fairly substantially less than the current NRL cap.

No, if you pay more than the estimate you don't break it i'm afraid. or save anything for paying less. Providing you've followed the estimation and assumption rules.
