Our season is over but that game and the after match has left a sweet, rather than bitter taste.

Yet the club is still tarnished with a reputation completely over exaggerated and farfetched, it defies belief. I've had to put up with years of so-called fans from the North West refusing to go to East Hull because they've 'heard' of bad treatment inflated due to probably one fan's again over-exaggerated tale of how they've been 'dusted' or something.

Congrats' on the title,and good to see a great turnout but that was to be expected..finally whilst refusing to go overboard cos' it is Wigan after all

I'm also going to add my applause and praise to the Hull KR fans.. I was also in Georges pub and we had a great laugh with their fans and that continued through out the game and afterwards. Your fans showed what Rugby League should be about.. Sportsmanship and for that I'd like to say Thank You x

Agreed. It was amazing to see. It looked as though the whole of the stand had stayed, waited patiently for our lads to come to our end, then gave them terrific applause as they made their way back to the tunnel. It couldn't have been easy, to have thrown away the game, and still clap us off, but 100% total respect to the KR fans for that.

You should have seen the looks on the Wigan under 18s side as they were applauded off the pitch by the Robins faithful after sticking 70 points on our 18s. I dont think that they were expecting it!
As an aside, if you are taking Blake Green off us can we have Ryan Hampshire in exchange please? He looks absolute quality.

Thanks for all the kind words folks,i was hugely proud(as ever) to be a HKR fan during and after that,the Wigan team had just finished top of the league and deserved the ovation.
Majority of RL fans think the team that finishes top should be champions.

I have to admit that I've not been to hull kr for a few years mainly due to what I've heard from other fans about how you feel threatened and always looking over your shoulder, however I decided that this time I would go and sample it for myself. What can I say, the fans of hull kr are the friendliest (and compassionate) fans that I've come across, at no point did I feel threatened, intimidated or uneasy either before,during or after the game. It was a great day, yes the result helped but the rovers fans added to the occasion. All I can say is that if anyone has been keeping away from craven park for whatever reason, get down there next season and you will be made more than welcome and will have a great day to boot ( not sure about the view behind the sticks though). The hull kr fans are a credit to the game,to the city of hull and themselves.
I salute and applaud you and I for one will definitely return next season

The majority of that side Hampshire included are first year U18's ( i.e. U17's)

Burgess who was at centre is probably Pat Richards replacement. Hampshire and Williams are two exciting halfbacks and then there's the likes of Rob Lever and Ryan Sutton in the pack.

The frightening thing is that this years U16's have been unbeaten for two years so many of those will graduate to the academy U18's/U19's next year.

Back on topic we walked off with two HKR fans (who had Geordie accents!!!) and they were excellent sports, a credit to your club.

I think that 13 of our 17 were under 17s so hopefully there is scope for improvement there. Our under 16s have lost only once and 8 of them have just been given full time contracts by Rovers which is a first for us and deffo a huge step in the right direction to produce a conveyor belt of talent that Wigan obviously have coming through.

I was also In the 'well' with my 7yr old, first time to HKR and like a previous poster was a little unsure having heard much about 'Hull fans'. How wrong could I be, had great banter with the HKR speccies, who even tried to cheer us both up everytime they scored, with tales of a regular 2nd half collapse !! My lad was on first name terms with most of the security guards who could not have treated the young lad better, Top Marks to the security guys by the tunnel btw.. the rugby in the first half really was that bad !!!
The sun shone, a good drive ... a quiet sunday afternoon, tremendous result and a trip well worth making...will be even better when you get the new stand built.

You can understand the excitement coming from ms3new,new craven park as its the first time they have been involved in a game were a major trophy/sheild was been contested in years n years

Wrong. We secured the league leaders shield at New Craven Park in 2010 as well.

Does anyone know if there is footage of the 18's game from HKR. I just want to see a re-run of the try scored from 1st play at the tap 20m. Speed of thought from the tap, noticed the defence were slow in lining up, kicked down field sprinted after it, re-gathered and crossed the line.....

After encountering some idiot Leeds fans in Huddersfield after the CC semi, this is just what i needed to read to put my faith back in our sport.

Good thread showing respect for both clubs fans and players and then guess what,legends and icons a typical fc fan comes on ,tries to clever and gets it wrong.Get back to your own site and the the rest of the thickheads and read how your signing finch,marshall,galloway,crabtree,slater,lyon etc,need I go on.!

The KR fans were great with us a few ago too. Despite losing to a last second drop goal.
