Alibert is one of the better referees, fit enough to keep up with the play unlike some of the others. Ok, he makes some mistakes but he is very fair and doesn't favour any teams, he's from Tolouse so that includes the Catalans Dragons.

I actually think Alibert is the best ref this year. I think Childs has got a lotof flak because of Agar. Whilst I think Silverwood and GAnson are absolute trash this year and at times change their interpreation of rules during the match, just like last nights match why chalk off the two Cas trys when the Leeds try looked much more forward?

And 100% agree with Stu, whige about the refs grow some balls and do the course, if not shut up.

He doesn`t need Agar to point out his deficientcies, its there for all to see.

He had a shocking 2nd half and looked to get every call wrong pretty much.

Slightly of topic but went to a sports mans' dinner on Thursday for Orrell St James and the former super league, not rugby union referee Karl Kirkpatrick was there. Thoroughly nice, funny chap who had plenty of stories from his time in super league and said he misses it terribly. Was great night.

You know the ref was bad when he got boo'ed off by the fans of the team that won by 32 points!! Some shocking decisions today and he is definately the worst ref of a bad bunch. Hope we dont ever get him in a big game.

He was dreadful all game, but particularly 2nd half, as you say. The players (both sides) started off by looking bemused, and then were laughing at him by the end.

Think it was crusaders 3rd try. Gareth Thomas made a nice break but threw a forward pass (touch judges fault I suppose) and the knock on following it was atrocious. Couldn't believe it when he gave a try.

I heard there was a few contentious forward passes and crossing decesion that were very bemusing.

He was the most useless referee i have ever seen. He will cost somebody their job he is that bad. Crusaders 3rd try was the most ridiculous try ive ever seen given

For the third try that has already been brought up, that has to be the first time I've ever seen a forward pass that actually went 90 degrees forward.

It seems horrible chanting "you're not fit to referee" at the man in the middle, but sadly I've got real doubts over Child as an official at pro/semi-pro level - he just seems to rile everyone with some baffling calls. Some of his signalling today confused the life out of me - it just didn't seem obvious what he was actually calling for at times.

Was a great article with him in RL World the other month, slating ref's and the standards, and putting most of the blame squarely at Cummings door saying that he makes them unaccountable and spends to much time nipping over to France to play video ref. All spot on imo.

As for Childs, he is a farce, its been a long time since I saw collective venom at the ref that was on show this afternoon, what makes it worse it he clearly loves the attention and gives off a smug attitude which riles people all the more.
