It wasn't a 'lazy play the ball' it was a mistake.
If you want an example of his entusiasm then look at him trying to get out of our own in goal, other plays could have just picked up the ball and wandered over the dead ball line. Pryce at least tried to get out. Everyone else in the entire team has been given another chance under Maguire, except Pryce. Why not?
He did NOTHING WRONG tonight.

Deserves a place on the wing against Widnes at least. Let's see how he does!

What more does he have to do?'"
The sad thing is that with some people it doesn't matter what he does they will still not give him any credit. He scored 4 tries for the reserves and all some people could say was things like "he only had to fall over the line", "my nan could have scored those tries" and other such rubbish.
It beggars belief that some people would rather have a player be a complete failure just as long as they aren't shown to have been wrong but that sadly appears to be the case. He is in a Wigan shirt and that is enough for me to give him my support.
All some people like myself are asking is that he is given the opportunity to show what he can do without the sort of treatment he has been given. If he doesn't cut it then so be it but some would still rather criticise him as soon as he steps onto the pitch rather than watch his performance with an open mind and will subsequently ignore anything positive that he does while heartily criticising any errors however slight or inconsequential.

Not too sure he deserves to stay in the team, depends on injuries I guess. What were people's views on Marsh (there's probably a thread on him but I can't see it) I thought he did pretty well, could do with putting a bit of muscle on though as he was hanging off players sometimes when tackling, he seemed to grow in confidence as the match went on.

Start one then before i do I thought Marsh looked very good and will certainly be one for the future.

| He must have some compromising photos of Michael Maguire.
Ainscough at Widnes and he gets a game?
PS. Ainscough is still joint top scorer at Cas.

| I thought he was solid if unspectacular today.
He got put into space once and scored from it. He also looked enthusiastic to take the ball up when we were under our sticks and made decent yards in the process to.
Obviously he made the TWO mistakes off their kicks but he also did some good things in that dept as well.
The people who think he was rubbish need to get a grip. He was far from rubbish or unenthusiastic like someone else pointed out as well.
He defiantly however did enough to keep his place against Widnes and I hope he can build on today and get better each week.

| Give him a fúcking break some comments on here are embarrassing. Your acting like he's made massive errors that have lost us the game. He didnt have a bad game. He had a better game than Ainscough did last week but of course Ainscough is from Wigan and Pryce is not so therefore Ainscough is better than Pryce.

I'm basing my argument on the fact that he is playing for the first time under a new coach, so I'm giving him a clean slate, the same as every other player. Then I'm looking at his performance today, he made one knock on, and nearly made one mistake from a kick early on. Other than that he did nothing wrong.
Your basing your criticism on how he looks, by that logic, Ryan Atkins is the worst signing ever, I mean, look at his hair!
*Edit*
Just read the Marsh thread. You posted;
Quote I love how he backed himself to score when he was running in at the corner. He made a couple of errors in defence but he didn't look out of his deapth. I hope he plays next week.
'"
So, you loved how Marsh bombed a certain try (at a crutial point in the game) by not simply drawing his man and giving it, instead he got white line fever and went himeself, getting pushed easily into touch yet you hated Pryce because he knocked on.
Marsh made a couple of errors in defense, Pryce made none, Marsh you loved, Pryce you hated.
Marsh had a good debut, but it'd be nice if you compared players by the same standards.

What does it matter what he looks like?
I'd rather look at the things he did today.
He was always there to take first drives up on our line (something he’s never done before), he defended well, ran the ball hard and took his chance to score when it was given to him.
He certainly wasn’t my MOM nor was he rubbish either.
His so called ‘mistakes’ weren’t that bad either;
The first fumble he managed to regain the ball and not get shoved back behind his line even tho he’d lost all momentum there. Actually thinking about it, it was quite a good recovery there by him
His 2nd dodgy moment for his knock on could have been given the other way for interference imo. Again the fact he made the mistake was down to him wanting to get us a quick PTB which is strange for someone who isn’t bothered about the team isn’t it? Also this mistake came off the back of a strong run which is again something he doesn’t do.
His third moment was his only real mistake of the game for me. He defiantly made a hash when he went down for the ball but luckily nothing came of it and certainly not a massive mistake.
So what exactly did he do wrong apart from failing to smile at the camera?

It's not about what he looks like.
He is not enthusiastic. He makes hardly any yards.
I have also given every player a clean slate, but look at the OP and it is clear I would rather have a young player in.

But your basing how enthusiastic he is by how he looks. So it is how he looks, and he ran hard today, he won most of the collisions he was in, and he put his hand up, what more do you want? Him to sprint around Mathers style? He isn't that sort of player

You are missing the point.
Would you not rather use this situation as an oppertunity to play a young player on the wing? Who would be much more enthusiastic than Pryce and would probably actualy have a future.
Pryce didn't even deserve to play today, he has done nothing in the reserves. It's not just about his game today.

Maybe its true maybe its not. Problem is if Pryce had a mom performance it would never be enough for some. Was the criticism people post on here done regardless of his performance. I think that is very much the case. Ainscough in my opinion as well as Pryce on their performances not just this year but last have weakensses in their game and unless its sorted it wont be just Pryce not good enough. You can score loads of tries but if you have a weakness that both have its obvious neither is going to be of the standard needed. Remember Ainscough will be looking to fill the boots of either Richards or Roberts next season if we dont get a new Full Back and hes nowhere near as good as either of them. Just as Pryce is not as good as Carmont or Gleeson.
But as pointed out Ainscough is local and gets away with it his face fits Pryce does not. I have not seen the game so i cant judge his performance but by what some are saying it was as bad as most of the team last week.
