That the Leeds game was considered by your coach to be his best win ever makes any mockery of Saints celebrating this weeks win "like a GF" a bit silly. I believe Cas were also mocked on here for celebrating their cup win over you as if their won the cup itself.

You're clutching at straws here mate. We were without our best prop for a start so you haven't seen the best of us yet. We had an 18 year old prop starting the game and a 19 year old off the bench. We also played 60 minutes with 16 men with our organiser, kicker and play-maker going off early.

With regards to being worried, not in the slightest. Wigan fans are talking as though we played a reserve side; you had 4 or 5 guaranteed starters missing and a few squad rotation-type players. We had slightly less missing.

Nobody is fooled by this "oh but it was only our kids so we should have been battered" routine.

Not sure if this has been covered before, but has Brown thought this through? While he may get playing to the gallery points, he has ensured that Wane has even more motivation to put them back in their place. He is like Suarez - trapped in a spiral of self destructive behaviour - it's as if he has forgotten that his head hunting jibes at Lockers and Flower hadn't already lead to a swift putting him back into his box.
More generally, i was surprised how well Saints played, even allowing for our injury list and much heavier June workload, as I didn't see them anywhere near us in terms of talent. We will need a couple of more men back if we play them in the play offs if we are to be certain of victory again.

We had 6 first choice players out (7 if you count Goulding and Thornley as first choice centres as per squad numbers) and several first choice reserves. Whichever way you count it we had around half a team out or unavailable. That's before we get to the fact that next time we meet only 2 of our starting pack are likely to start as we have Joel Tomkins due back well before then. If you seriously think that is the same team (or even close to it) that will meet you next time then by all means carry on trolling. I'm pretty sure though that you aren't that stupid really.

Squad numbers are given out before the season; a lot changes after that. Most Wigan fans now consider Gelling to be ahead of Goulding, would you not agree?

Also, at no point have I ever stated that the team on Friday will be the same team that plays us next time. So you're right, I'm not stupid. Nor am I trolling.

Well funnily enough on Mike's Wigan forum I did post Wane should have kept quiet and let Brown hang himself or words to that effect when Brown went on his rant.

I think Wane is right about the Burgess "try" but there is no way what he said in the text quoted in the link is anything like what Brown has come out with. Wane's is an opinion on a try. Brown is playing politics trying to deflect criticism from his players and/or influence people. Unfortunately for him even I don't think the RFL are thick enough to fall for it.

Thats the way I read it too and I suspect the RFL might. Brown essentially said a ref had a bad game , Wane has gone further.

I think it is time for Shaun Wane to take a break from all this 'mind games' nonsense. He has had a lot of praise over the last year or so, and rightly so. But it seems to me he is in danger of believing his own press.

I love his passion for Wigan and I think he is a lot more interesting character than Madge ever was. But -

Agreed. I've no objection to a few choice words but as I said earlier he's gone too far IMO. There are limits and he's just go past them.

FWIW I thought that Brown was probably right with his assessment of the ref's performance, but why did he bring it into the public domain? Both he and Wane have made themselves look like a pair of idiots now and it's about time they buttoned it.

I tend to agree with this.

My sentiments to ..... refocus on the defensive lapses that were apparent (Makinson's second was appalling defence) then we don't have to worry about ref decisions.

Forget the mind games nonsense .... leave that to Brown .... a tactic he employed at Huddersfield and is trying again at Saints
