It was aimed at the joyless few unable to take any pleasure, even from a win, and can only see the negatives. I'm sure you have some sat near you at the ground. I remember a couple of seasons ago a Saints fan defecting to the Wigan camp to get away from that attitude. I'd hate to think that we'd become so jaded by the lack of success that we're falling into the same boat. I was just trying to get this message across.

Injuries to Phelps, Richards and Bailey at Hull and McIlorums suspension may well have saved Nobby his job along with Randalls shocking pass. I just hope he learns a lesson and continues to give the youngsters a chance.

Also like to add that apart from the pass Randall was superb and is probably one of the most under-rated players in superleaue.

I think young Thornley, with a bit of good fortune and good coaching could be better than Shenton.

He's bigger and faster.

Shenton is a class act, he is quality.

Is he as quick out of the blocks Brian? i think this is what seperates Shenton from a few others, along with his ability to run an intelligent line.

Thornley is definately bigger than Shenton but I wouldnt say he is faster and his acceleration defininately isnt.

Thornley is cartainly bigger and I would say faster, but Shenton is quicker off the mark.

However, if Thoernely gets the right ball then he can be a danger, very similar to a Newlove IMO.

I thought the best sign of Tomkins and Ainscough was the speed and reaction times the two had when spotting an opportunity. I was well impressed how fast Tomkins was to react and get up with the play in support when Carmont got the offload from Ainscough.
Thats the sign of a good rugby brain, being alert to everything.

Definately and based on performances Tomkins deserves to start in place of Smith, who should be left out completely for McIlorum. I very much doubt Noble will have the guts to do that though
