Surely the sensible thing to do would be to allow all ticket holders for the current game to travel to Widnes. With any concessions going to Widnes?

Then Widnes can hold their home game later in the year as planned.

EW plus others from up here and one from Belfast cancelled all plans for Wigan last night . Widnes away would have been easy as we were all down early doors . Really hope Lennigan gets pelters for this as he is out of order . But he wont care what i think . What state are the team going to be in after being told the game was off if they were told.

its not rocket science, when they did the fixtures and saw 2 matches within one weekend in Feb, alarm bells should have rung, after all, rain, or even snow is not exactly unheard of in February, is it?

You'd think the RFL would load Widnes home games to start of season too and take full advantage of their Ipitch???

i can appreciate the decision made last night by WRLFC admitting that it would be easier to rearrange our fixture than the football fixture and that is a factor that lead to the original decision, but to not even liaise with Widnes about it is not acceptable at all. Big up to Widnes for cracking the whip and getting this game back on at such short notice. Why this wasn't put forward to Widnes last night is beyond me and if anything makes me worry that the club didn't want the game to go ahead tonight at all. did they let the players enjoy the WCC win too much perhaps and simply used the waterlogging as an excuse?!
unfortunately now the players are going to get the brunt of this not matter what the genuine reasons were and its not fair on them at all. the club should have organised this a whole lot better than they have and if a fine or points deduction comes our way i'd accept it no problem. crackers!

Disgraceful shambles by the chairman. Surely all this should have been sorted 24 hours ago and the fans would have been less aggrieved. What now looks clear is that the initial decision was taken without reference to the RFL or Widnes. All done as Latics fixture is more important than ours according to our own chairman. God help us!

I'm not normally one to have a go at either the club or our chairman (who I think is a real asset to us) but, on this occasion, this is both shambolic and highly embarrassing. It could also cost us a lot of money.

We have to get out of the DW and leave 3rd Divison Latics with a huge White Elephant.

But there is no land available now to build a new stadium.

Like others, I'm generally a big fan of IL but this is embarrassing.

Game back on at Widnes. Ten quid on the door. Thanks to the Widnes Club but why did we not ask them in the first place?

Kids go free but they need a ticket from the ticket office at the Widnes ground. Everyone else pay on the gate.

I think we will also be giving the RFL a wad of cash too when they (correctly) fine us.

We also couldn't afford to build a ground equal to the quality of DW. I know DW gets slated for lack of atmosphere etc. but the facilities are very good for RL Stadia. Despite what their fans might think, Latics need us to help survive in that stadium just like we'd need them to sustain it if the roles were reversal, so leaving wouldn't be an option because Wigan Athletic wouldn't want us to leave from a business point of view.

As for the tonights game, despite what i'm going to say below it doesn't personally bother me too much that the game WAS called off but the situation is a complete shambles. I've seen some good points on twitter made by our fans about the clubs relationship with our fan base. We are excellent in some aspects as a club but in others i think were are p*ss poor and this is one of them. People may see this as an over reaction but I've thought for a number of years that the relationship between the club itself and fans isn't great because of things like this. It really puts a bad taste in fans mouths. Sounds like this one is down to the chairman, who has been done excellent over the last 10 years, but things like this needs to stop or our crowds will continue to decline. I think Wigan take for granted the fan base they have.
