Union people know that very well, so why would they risk having a cross code match? If the outcome is Wigan hammer Saracens, then yes we have just put some of our best youngsters on show to Union which has all the money, but at the same time we have just shown Union fans that despite RL being in decline and Union growing for the last 15 years that we still have the better product.

I think this Partnership is a big risk, but if it comes right we could see a big change in RL.

I really couldn't care less 'how it looks'.

Lenagan loves Wigan and has improved the Club no-end since he took over. He wouldn't make a deal that gives nothing to Wigan and let his Club roll over for someone.

He isn't going to tell the world and his wife about what exactly we've got down to the last detail as it's no way to run a business. Everything he's done since taking over has been in the Club's best interest, so I don't get the fascination so many people have of 'if we're not being told, it's bad for the club'.

People need to learn to deal with it and have faith in the Chairman who's more than earned our trust and respect.

I don't like the idea of player loans. Sure they have some good young players, but realistically, will they loan us anyone decent? I doubt it.

I don't think anyone is asking for all the details; the problem is there are no details. It's something an amateur business would do. Why announce something but not actually make a statement about it, especially on something as controversial and unique as this partnership.

Whilst I agree with you IL has Wigans interests at the forefront, that doesn't mean he's perfect or that every decision has been the correct. Mostly though he needs to put out a blanket statement at least vaguely outlining the benefits of this deal to Wigan.

I would rather have our own home grown talent getting played in the first team rather than training Union players how to play a sport their not equipped to play.

RL contracts aren't worthless, they just don't generate much in the way of damages claims if they are breached and don't give you a strong bargaining position in a negotiation with an RU club....

As for the partnership, I think it's backfired spectacularly. If there was good news then that might have distracted people, but if there is any good news it hasn't been made public so we all assume the worst and it makes a bad situation look even worse.

No I certainley wouldnt BUT the FACT is that Wigan Rugby League have teamed up with a yawnion club and it just make me projectile vomit. Its filthy, rancid, horrible, nasty and gut wrenching in extreme. And couldn't care less if was the Virgin Mary herself that set the partnership up.

Hopefully this partnership will turn out to be as uneventful as the partnership we apparently had with Melbourne Storm. I can't see how we can get much out of it

The reality is there could be some players at Saracens that are more suited to league, they cover a very different part of the country so this may be useful in the long run

For the cross code match I would have two games...

One playing League for 80 minutes in Twickenham and the other playing 80 minutes of Union at Old Trafford.

Market the hell out of the League game at Twickenham, it will be a sellout anyway with England RU Corporate seats and all that and hammer Saracens.

Then take the Union game to Old Trafford, no one up there will be interested in going, we have a half empty stadium and its a boring game.

Not gonna happen though is it? Why would the RFU host the game at twickers?

Maybe Wigan are confident in their player turnover and want to make an additional 250k a year through transfers.

Because we can tell them, what better way to showcase how far domestic Rugby Union has come over the past 15 years by showing to Union fans that they can match it with the League boys. At least that's what I would hope we would say

I dont like the idea of some sort of partnership with a Rugby Union club. Saracans know that Wigan produce talented kids if they can possibly have 1st look and 1st choice then they will sign up. I dont see how Wigan benefit from this.

There could, but I'm not sure where. Yesterday Sarries had a pack of 7 elderly South Africans and one elderly Englishman. The only back I would look at is Farrell and yesterday he play centre with 30 year old Charlie Hodgson at 10. The partnership must have some financial gain for Wigan. I suspect that you will get an announcement tomorrow from IL.

Why should we get players from the other code we are challenge cup holders and was nearly double champions and i dont see how WRLFC can benifit from this deal i dont want to see a sarecen player wearing our shirt.

I doubt first choice Saracens players would be coming to Wigan and who know what Owen would be like back in League anyway.

I hope it happens because I reckon we will rip them a new one. It would be a big positive for the sport if a rugby league team demolished a union one imo.

How would it? The media is dominated by Union types and it would barely raise an eyelid. Anyway we would not demolish Saracens at Union and depending how they chose to play we would barely touch the ball. All it would prove is that they are better at Union and we are better at League. It would be a money making scheme with little purpose and I hope that Wigan fans would boycott such an event.

I'm going with the wait & see gang on this one. What if Saracens have a halfback or centre who is more suited to league or a running strong backrow forward that isn't 6'6" tall.

Before completely dismissing the idea lets have a little look. I admit to being a bit perplexed but is it another way of getting the Wigan brand into London & RU?
