People need to be realistic I think, when you have two teams that are so evenly matched, you only need one of those teams to have a slight off day and you can get a big score. It used to happen alot at the turn of the century when Leeds, Saints and Wigan used to meet etc. It looked like Wigan had alot of players who were very jaded yesterday and one or two carrying a knock. O'Loughlin's hammy was strapped very heavily. In the two games we have won Briers has been the difference in my eyes. I think Wigan need to keep TL on the field as long as possible, or find an adequate replacement. We suffer from the same problem when Monas has a break. Good luck in the playoffs and hope we meet in October.

If we were both to get to the GF it would be a worthy final, and one that you couldn't call with any degree of certainty.

The second part of your post is actually true and quite a decent appraisal, but your first part just goes to show why people don't like wigan fans, always quick to brandish other fans as scum yet are always whither than white themselves.

Agree mate, interestingly though, first game you had injuries and we won, second game the other way around, and the third you were "tired" from the CC and we had 3 big game players missing and pummelled you, i do agree though that both teams on form in the GF would make an outstanding game, here's hoping we don't do a wire and that we actually get that far. Lots of work still to be done yet.

It was certainly the worst Wigan have played this season and possibly the best performance from wire.

Can't say I'm concerned, we looked jaded and seemingly had no luck all game, so many unforced errors; at when we next meet, which in all probability will be the grand final I'd be more than confident of turning them over.

It was nowhere near our best performance. We were lazy with ball in hand and made dumb decisions.

It's 1 game. I said to my son before the game that we could get a pasting. Wire will be well up for it, and whilst any team will be up for a game like that, it's physically and mentally hard to back up like that 2 weeks on the trot. The early tries really smashed us and it's hard to come back from it.

Wire played some good stuff and defended really well, but it's not a true reflection of where both teams are at.

Congrats and all that, but it's only 1 game, a win or a loss for either team doesn't make or break their season at all.

Correct on all counts. Plus a 13 game undefeated streak had to end sometime so losing at HJ wasn't a surprise. If we are lucky we'll meet again and this time the repercussions of losing WILL matter.

I thought we played ok.... it certainly wasn't our best display of the season.. not by along way.

Don't get me wrong, I think the hub cap is a very important piece of silverware. However, I had personally resigned myself to the fact that we were up against it in terms of defending the title, especially after Wembley. Just look at the table - we have blown everyone away except Warrington and leaving ourselves with that fixture as a "must win" was a bridge too far.

Still, it's all about fighting the battles that you can win. It won't be easy (it might not even happen) but I feel we have a better chance of beating you in any upcoming play off game than we ever had on Sunday.

Totally agree and I was surprised to hear the Radio Manchester team after the game talk about the amazing quality of Wires play. It was short of your best IMO but then Wigan weren't only short of their best they actually put in their worst performance in Maguires 2 years at the club.

It was a very scrappy game won comfortably by the side that wanted it a whole heap more.

Catalans away we played better, even at Dave's football stadium this season we scored less but played better, Leeds away, Cas at home, Bulls away all those top of my head we played better than Sunday
