Roberts at full back and Pryce will presumably shift to centre when Carmont retires but I don't see how Charnley can break through unless he overtakes Goulding or Richards goes for an NRL deal (surely he must be getting offers from down under, I know the NRL is a much better standard but Richards is brilliant). We're producing so much talent it's ridiculous. I guess this is another nail in Ainscough's coffin too, I still think he'll make it somewhere though.

Spoke in-depth with members of our group from Perpignan, who attend reserve/academy games regularly, and they told me that in Josh Charnley and Iain Thornley we have potentially world-class British centre-wing combination.

I watched the academy game before the Les Catalans game too. The french weren't bad opposition, but our lads were too good for them. Iain Thornley was outstanding. I pray that we keep him out in the centres and that we don't lose him to Yawnion! He went my college and speaking to a few of his close mates they told me that all he wants to do is play for Wigan RL and no-one else.

They lived and played at Chorley prior to moving to Wigan and St Pats .

He was at Chorley Tournament today presenting the medals to the younger teams. Cracking lad.

I thought you had been put right about this pointless line of argument numerous times? How good a player plays in the academy is no guarantee he will make it at SL level. You of all people must know that.

Therefore it was a silly statement to make that a player who had never played a SL game was a better player than those who have played at SL level.

And no I am not saying Charnley will not make it. He had a very good début but all the academy games you have seen him in don't count for anything in terms of making the comparison you did.

Having read a few postings on this thread, I was at the academy final last year when your academy side wiped the floor with stains academy and I was thinking then - keep these youngsters and you have the makings of a new Super League dynasty - similar to the one at Leeds which has enjoyed sucess since 2004, without breaking the salary cap. (Not a swipe) I read on Sky text today that you are linked with certain Melbourne Storm players. My advice to your board would be DONT DO IT!! Have faith with the youngsters and current crop of "experienced players" and I can see that Wigan will return to the domination you enjoyed from the mid eighties.

As for Karl Pryce, sorry I just dont get it - he is pants and it is only the centres that make him look good. A bit like Ade Gardner.....
