The reason top plays on the Friday is to give us more recovery time for the next game, a reward for finishing top, if we can't play at home, and we are then forced, by Sky, to play on the Friday, then we lose our advantage, so really we should just opt to play on the Sunday.

According to the gazette we're in talks about switching it now, because the league want 100% confirmation it will be ready, and although the club are sure it will be done in time cannot 100% guarantee at this stage.

If we've moved the game to Sunday it gives us good negotiating room for the play-offs in a " we've scratched your back " kind of way.

Isn't it in the terms of the ground use that we can't play 48 hours before a Latics fixture?

If so, we'll have to have agreed to shift it to the Sunday.

was lead to believe the reason was short notice and they couldn't turn the ground around in time! i.e. re-stocking and the like.

imo they have rearranged their fixture so therefor they should have arranged this with rugby or they are happy to do a 24 hour turn a round this time as they have loads of notice and can order extra stock and arrange for staff to come in and do what is necessary.

If we win our first play-off game then we would not have to play until the clubcall round, which would give us almost 2 weeks rest.

Also Huddersfield are looking likely to get a home tie and their football team are away that weekend, so it would be pretty easy to have Huddersfield play at home on Friday, Leeds or Hull (Hull City FC are away) could play on the Saturday, as could Warrington, leaving us free to play Sunday 12 September.
