cant remember if he said Farrel was on the bench and I cant phone back - looks well suspect!!

If Mossop's the 18th man, I'm assuming that means Farrell will be on the bench.

pretty sure thats right but things can change. Hope Farrell is playing but also wish Mossop was in for Bailey.

Looking forward to seeing Marsh get a chance.

Bailey's last few appearances at second row have been much better than Mossop's so I assume that would be why Bailey seems to be chosen ahead of him. Both were awful against Harlequins so it was a bit of a 50/50 call I imagine.
Farrell deserves to be in the starting line up though, but maybe Maguire feels he offers more off the bench than Bailey would.

true - Mossops been off for a couple of weeks now whereas Bailey has been steady in the 2nd row. Still worried about tomorrow though - we could have done with Gleeson.

"If" Gleeson doesn't play don't be surprised to find Goulding at Centre with Marsh on Wing?

Jeez, I have no idea how Phil Bailey is holding down a spot right now. He looks too slow, too slow for centre, too slow for second row, too slow for prop. You shouldn't be able to jog round the pitch and still make the 17 on rep/squad number.

Or maybe he's been doing more than you're giving him credit for, and not actually making the 17 on rep/squad number. Just a thought

Because the coach may actually see what he does for the team better than what you do?
2 x poor performances at centre don't undo the good work he had done previous 5/6 weeks when he had been mentioned in some quarters (Saints Away GF for Example) as being in our better performers.

Maybe because he didn't babysit a certain SA last week it's upset a few of his critics but for me, especially with Hansen out, I would have him starting in the 2nd row with Joel and providing a bit of defensive stability for the first 20mins.

Incidentally for me it's Mossop who's been a bit off the pace for the past 3/4 weeks or so and looks a bit jaded, I'd still play him today off the bench just for his extra size.

A bit of Black mark on Maguire for picking Bailey their last week for me.

I like mcguires tactict there. For the last few weeks we have dropped off when Micky mac has taken the field along with eamon and feca. Therefore he is putting micky mac on the field at the same as fielden and coley and allowing piggy to shore up with feca and Eamon may prove to be a good move.

I agree it's an intersting thought (And 100% correct about Dropping off when Mickey Mc came on last week, we seemed very disorganised for the last 10 mins & 1st 20 mins to 2nd half) but I'm worried about McCollorum's distribution and organisation in what probably will be a frantic 1st 20 mins or so.

Let's hope MM does concentrate on his distribution and providing good ball for his runners rather than taking them on too much.

Missing with small niggling injuries are prop Paul Prescott and centre Martin Gleeson who pulled out of the squad on Saturday to be replaced by Cameron Phelps. Paul Deacon is making good progress but is still not quite ready.
