A spell at Widnes would do him no harm if they wanted a replacement.

Doesn't the player also have to be outside of the clubs to 20 earners? Which may be why Goulding can't go in dual registration (if he is still young enough).

Not seen anything about wages being a factor but it may be that wages have never been mentioned because if they are one of the top earners you wouldn't surely want to send them out anyway? So I don't know if your right or wrong.

Only stipulation I've seen is a player must be aged 22 or less on August 31, 2009 to be dual registered this year. Goulding only turns 22 next week so he still qualifies in that regard. Karl Pryce missed out having turned 23 last July.

There is a stipulation over salaries, but I can't remember if it was outside the top twenty or twenty-five earners.

Great new the lad is a SL player and needs to e playing regularly at the higest level. Made up about this and will enjoy watching Cas and seeing him progress this year.

Agreed, and perfectly sensible steps by the club in that he can't play against us or in the cup.

I have to be honest and admit I was looking forward to seeing him get a game this week against Les Catalans. That was the initial idea that we got from us recalling him. He is an exciting talent and I would have looked forward to seeing him on the wing this week instead of Goulding (nothing against Goulding there).

Having said that, I realise this is a fantastic move for Shaun Ainscough. He will be playing at the top level and the experience will be great for him. Terry Matterson has brought on some exciting players at Castleford - Joe Westerman, Richard Owen and Kirk Dixon just a few that spring to mind. Super League is the level we want him to be playing at and it has been beneficial in the past to us with Lee Mossop coming back from Huddersfield a far better player to the one that left.

I look forward to Castleford's match on Saturday now.

It's a very similar move to Mossops last year and that has worked out very nicely.

Mossop needed a couple of injuries to give him his chance but who's to say that won't happen again.

Isn't it a bit strange that none of the players that have gone out on loan have gone to Crusaders. Crusaders have been crying out for players? Yet Castleford have lost both Dixon and Owen then immediately Ainscough is shipped out to Castleford from Widnes. Is it the Wigan Club(IL) who doesn't want to send then to Wrexham under Nobby or it is the players themselves??

To be honest i do not want another dual player again, as widnes have been shafted once again.I would not mind if went back to Wigan, but to be loaned out again is e for us.I would not play farrell now if i was cullen.A loaned player is the best option for championship sides.I am not happy, and even chris dean who is on dual has hardly played for us.

Would you be saying the same thing, if Widnes had lost the three games these guys played in, knowing that you could have had farrell and Ainscough even just for them games? I would imagine you may get another player from us such as Josh Charnley/ Stefan March/ Ian Thornley anyway.

No offence to your club as you are doing the best for wigan.I am just annoied with the system, and i want continuity in our team for the important games.I want widnes to win the league and win honours, so can put us in a good postion for a franchise.I would like a 3 month loan, or season loan, but not this dual contract.Just my opinion mate and i wish him well at castleford.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but from what I have heard. Cas enquired about buying Shaun in the close season but the club turned it down flat, instead offering him on loan. Cas weren't interested.

Clearly now they're down a few players and the original offer of a loan is attractive again, this is perfect for all involved. Cas fill an empty spot, Shaun plays regularly (with any luck) for a month or more, and with no disrespect to Widnes, the club are sending a young player with masses of potential to play at a much higher standard!

I just hope that like Mossop and Goulding last season, Shaun is able to return and get some first team action!

I can certainly understand your point, but I would imagine not too many players who are on "Duel Contracts" will be picked up on loan deals by superleague clubs and have to leave their Championship club. Widnes are just a bit unlucky that Castleford have lost their wingers and Ainscough has superleague experience and is a perfect replacement.

I hope we can keep farrell for the season and Ben davies for a extended loan period.Anyway i wish wigan luck for the season.

Good move! I was a bit concerned about the 'year long' loan deal that was being rumoured, but this works well for all parties. I also agree with the clauses about not being cup-tied or playing against us. I can't really see any argument for not having these clauses to be honest!
