So to sum up:

1 - The coaching situation for next season is still not resolved.

2 - Despite the Billy Big Bollox talking to the press about what positions we want to sign for next season, nobody has signed and it looks like they won't.

3 - Its taken Lenagan 5 fans forums before he's realised what a bunch of muppets some of our fans are.

Have I missed anything?

Personally I though IL was excellent, good of you to highlight the question as the cause of him losing his rag, personally I thought it was the sheer bloody minded, failure to understand the answer that caused his agitation.

For those who weren't there, IL spent considerable time looking at players in Aus (Karmichael Hunt being one IIRC) but all considered, physical condition, off-field problems, dressing room issues, exchange rates etc none of them were considered viable options. Instead, IL chose to reinvest the money in the youth we already have, a policy I'm personally very pleased we're finally adopting.

First time I've been to a forum and it staggered me how many people sit there and actually listen to nothing that's said and ask stupid questions regardless.

I couldn't go tonight for a very good reason.

However what I think Cruncher is trying to say is that the biggest whingers are those that did not go.

I'll go one further and say that in general the whingers never have the balls to ask the questions.

Fair play to the man who took IL on tonight, I may not agree with him but he had his say, and not from behind the keyboard as so many "fans " do.

So basically we have no new signings, our scouting system is garbage, we have not advanced from last year, and we are being held to ransom by a coach who only wants 1 more year (as if he is going to be picked up by an NRL club) because we cannot find anyone else good enough?

As for having a moan about players i think IFL needs to get a grip and so do the players too if it affects them. I did not agree with the Amos Roberts thread but everyone is entitled to there opinion, if they have such thin skin they are in the wrong game.

I was not there but from what i have read it all sounds like one big excuse cultutre going on at the JJB.

We have sounded out a new coach, and we have attempted to sign players from the NRL, simple thing is we picked a coach who is mates with Noble and would not do over his mate, and a Prop who was always going to struggle to get a visa, sweep it under the carpet all you want but those were the calls made by IFL.

I do think he is the man to take us forward but i think he is making an error arranging these nights when he has no news to deliver.

I want to know who's going to volunteer their kid to change the scoreboard at Orrell.

Why the hell would he look at Hunt?

Its statements like this that casue me real concern.

We need forwards and Hunt was never ever a realistic target so why name him as one?!

I like you for a very good reason was unable to attend this evening, and I'll state for a second time that my problem is not with the questions asked but the answers given. As for this keyboard warrior crap I think your trying to imply, not at all it's simply a case of being disappointed with some of the answers.

That's an interesting one.I remember a few discussions at the time where anyone who discussed this was told it was no big deal getting a sponsor late on in the day. Clearly it is an issue. Hopefully (from a RL point of view) Mecca will renew their contract. They seem very proactive, and have extended their sponsorship throughout RL, which is very good for the game.

The nonsense about people not liking the logo, is just that.

IFL cannot go on about £ and then say Hunt was a realistic target when he never was!

We may as well said we were looking at Slater, Thurston, Meninga and Lewis, its as realistic as targeting Hunt.

IL I believe hit out at the assassination of some players on here by certain posters without reason.

In the context of what he said it made perfect sense, I personally can't be d trying to explain it. I think KH was used as an example of how quality on the field has costs that are not always worth paying in the grand scheme of things. IL alluded to other Aus players (none named) who are now with English clubs that he chose not to sign because of issues he found while completing "due dilligence". IL suspects those clubs may regret their decisions in the fullness of time.

But didn't IL do exactly the same in the press and slate our players performances?

I think we need a new categorisation system for fans that go to the fans forum and ask a difficult question.

There is a massive difference between a post match interview where our players have not played well, and the character asassination that goes on here and on other forums on a daily basis.

IFL said since Wigan signed up Mecca as main sponsor various other super league clubs had contacted them looking for sponsorship.

So why name a player?

Hunt was never ever a realistic Wigan target, the fact he was mentioned smacks of a need to apease the fans to try to justify our failure in the transfer market when it seems we have backed a horse that was a non started in Webb.

I do think IFl will have a successful time at Wigan, but just like on the field his performance is just missing that something, that i am sure will come, but at the moment is just lacking.

Mecca are one five (I think) companies looking at sponsoring WRLFC next year, IL said that it was likely but not definate that they would be our sponsors next year (at least that's how I understood it). IL also highlighted that a number of clubs had been in contact with Mecca since their deal with us.

As for the logo....if I learnt anything tonight I learnt that if we were handed tenners at every home game there would be a section of our support that would complain that it wasn't twenties.

Disagree really. At the end of the day paper it up how you want but both are doing the same thing. Blasting the players.

Like I said, paper it up how you want, if Ian Lenagan said the fans were a "disgrace" or referred to the fans as this or whatever for saying what they say about individual players performances then he is contradicting himself. Because last season he did it too.

Are we not entitled to an opinion? No matter whether you agree with it or not it's an independant site and we can post what we like. I'm not saying slating the players every week is okay but it is a funny comment for IL to make after his comments last year.

Why not name a player ? It gives some indication of the calibre of player we've looked at. TBH I think if he'd not mentioned names we'd have had "well who did he look at? he's probably not looked at anyone significant and he's just appeasing us by telling us he's looked at top drawer players, if he had he'd be able to give us names".
