If you look on the other Long thread, you'll see that im 100% with you on this one. Id welcome him with open arms, and definately have him on my shirt just to wind everyone up!

Long = past it. Let him go to Wire or Wakefield with their other wasters.

The only one out of them thats even close to realistic is Orford. Id still rather have Long. Proven in SL, born winner, takes his team around the pitch, fantastic kicking game, can open up defences week in week out. Brilliant scrum half, people on here just wont admit he's still SL's number one half back because they have a grudge against him.

So what do you intend to do or bring in? Are you happy with the failing partnership we have?

P.S Wipe your drool off your monitor and read the board once in a while, Orford has been mentioned constantly over the last few weeks.

Quite clearly not, he's still playing and starting at number 7 for the current best team in SL.

He has been mentioned. He isn't 'expected'. There's a big difference.

And what makes you think that Dobson would want to come to us???

We are in a completely different situation to Saints, we need a half back to steady the ship and take us round the park. Saints have other players to do that if Long goes.

Do you honestly think a contract, a players worth to one team is exactly the same to another?

Were you not questioning Newcastle Knights when they let Carmont go on a free?

Every situation is different, Long would do a great job for us.

Myler is a realistic chance and I'm a big fan of Bosc who I think we should have got last year before he extended his contract.

And can people forget Dobson. He has signed on with HKR again.

So now Bosc is a better number 7 than Long? For starts he's a 6. I like Bosc as well but he's not a 7, which we need.

Myler is good but lacks experience. I thought he went missing in the game on Fri.
Have 2 young halfback is risky to say the least.

But Long's available. There is no reason for Myler to leave Salford at all, and do you really want to run with 2 very young half backs next season? Like I said, we need someone to take us round the pitch, an experienced head, not a young lad with tonnes of pressure on him.

Is Bosc even available?

Quite clearly he is past it or else Saints wouldn’t be looking to get rid of him would they! Lets not all sit here and pretend that Long is the same player he was two seasons ago or even Last season.

Long’s performances are going down hill fast and that won’t change when he comes to Wigan. Add to that he’s not really hit any consistent sort of form this season means we should stay well away imo.

As far as I can see Long will only have two benefits on our team if he came

1-Leadership (which is questionable anyway as it’s well known he’s a to$$ pot and not well liked outside of Saints after betting scandal and walking out on GB.

2-He’ll improve out last play kicking game.

Other than compare him to Leuleui,

1-Short kicking- Long isn’t that much better
2-Defence- Leuleu every time
3-Broken field running-Leuleu every time
4-Age-Leuleu every time
5-Commitment to Wigan-Leuleu wins again.

We need a much better player than Long
