The same people who have assembled 4 GF winning squads, more youth development through the system in the last 10/12 years than you'll probably ever produce and a 4th WCC
Thanks for your input but I think ill trust my own judgements
Lam is getting no more 50% of the best his players.

Whilst I agree, we had nothing at all in attack. Getting Wane in would make some immediate gains:-
1. In defence we would move up as a defensive line, and try and force the error, rather than letting the opposition come to us, thus gaining 10m every play.
2. In attack we would run onto the ball. At the moment we are passing it too far back and receiving it flat footed, being easy to smother as an advancing defensive line, and struggling to make any meters on any set.
basic coaching, no more no less.

| No surprise that Lam is still in charge. I just can’t fathom why he hasn’t been sacked. What are we waiting for? If Leeds do us on Wednesday and we don’t score again (in either half) what possible reason is there for him to still be in a job come Thursday? Absolute joke.

My only thinking is that this season is now a write off and changing the coach will have little impact and might mess his plans up for 2022.
Long term he's probably thinking it's probably better just to wait. If I was Peet, I'd prefer to wait 5 weeks and then start. He'd be on a hiding to nothing if he took over now Vs having a preseason to build up confidence + new signings.
IL should have pulled the trigger months ago. He's not and now there's little point.

I think that, sadly, we've passed a point where changes won't make a difference to this season.
IL has royally messed this season up & it's impacted his legacy (or at least it has with me). Game one of the season there was a post about needing a new prop - it never came and as such we've had no go forward. Everyone could see it. We even had opposition fans saying that it would transform the side.
Likewise, Lam has been poor for a while and should have gone weeks ago. He didn't and now we're stuck with him.
IL has an opportunity about 6/7 weeks ago to do something about it and didn't. The inaction has cost us this season imo and he's going to have to work very hard to build up interest and trust for 2022.

Unless there is a major signing for 2022 I don’t see how the club can rack up interest for 2022.
It’s the same old same old promoting Peet and bringing back Wane.
Bringing in Miller for TL is not going to bring old fans back or create interest for new fans.
KR I believe thinks that Miller will be a great signing. I just shake my head in disbelief.
I think that we are stuffed until IL decides to depart. The biggest problem for me is who will take on the club or more precisely if IL just let’s us drift into mediocrity or even worse because he can’t sell the club.
We’ve had 3 years of total utter tripe which should have been negated no later than Lam’s first season.
If IL doesn’t want to run the club which could be a distinct possibility then we may look back on the last 3 years as a “golden period” unless Danson or some other party with tens of millions going spare sorts out the decline which is staring us in the face.
I’ve seen bad times previously but this one feels just that little bit different. I’m mot sure why I feel this way maybe listening to Lam’s interviews over the last 3 years has addled my brain or maybe as a club we have finally run out of passion for the club

If rumours are true and Peet/Wane will be running things next year it makes no sense in keeping Lam on.
They are both at the club and whilst they may not be able to perform miracles this year getting them in early can only assist in our preparations for next year as they are able to put a mark on the team now rather than at the start of next year.

To put it bluntly, the fans will be the issue.
If Peet comes in and doesn't win another game, or even just gets pumped by Leeds, then we know what the chatter will be like. He'll have an even bigger fight on his hands.

The whole situation is farcical. Like you said, most if not everyone could see our issues months ago but we did nothing about it.
I’m sick and tired of talking about it. It’s genuinely draining any enthusiasm I have because a coaching change and just an idea of what to do with the ball this season isn’t over. I’m not saying we’d win it, that’s borderline delusional, but we could have a bloody good crack. Instead we’ll drop out the 6 and limp to the seasons end and for what? So Rads doesn’t upset his p**spot mate?
No one person should be bigger than the club but at the minute it looks evermore like Adrian Lam is. I’d love to know what he’s got on IL or Rads. Whatever it is it’s got to be good for him to be so useless but stay in a job for so long.

For me he’s already under the pump, rumours already starting about him actually being in control (which I don’t buy to be totally honest) and irrespective of whether you believe them or not, it paints a bad picture already. Then you’ve got the perception that it’s done on the cheap, the reality that it’s his first head coaching job.
I hope he proves all those doubts and rumours wrong and that his alleged appointment is a success but as I say, even before he starts he’s up against it. My gut feeling is that it’s not going to end well.

Part of it is that IL doesn't sack people mid season. There's something good be said about that, but there also has to be a point or line where enough is enough.
There's only what, 4 or 5 games left this year? That's the only thing getting me through it.
Sad really as I've managed to talk 8 or so people into coming on Wednesday. They are lapsed fans & bringing their young kids with them for the 1st time. I'm genuinely apprehensive for how it will turn out tho. There's going to be underlying atmosphere of frustration imo and, if it goes bad, the 1st memory those kids are gonna have of the club are of disgruntled fans.

It’s a game that should be winnable. Leeds aren’t a great side but a good one and improving, still we have enough in our ranks to win but we all know there’s more than a good chance of yet another utter farcical showing.

| We wont win every time we get a good crowd on we lose. The club has let fans in for £10 and some of them will have not watched rugby before and go home disillusioned when they lose so instead of picking up more spectators the opposite could effect.Hope we put up a good show and win cant see it though.

| Leeds have got some talented young players and I'm sure they'll throw the ball around a bit; we should do the same. We certainly won't beat anyone with the pedestrian attack we've seen lately. But I feel as pessimistic as most of you guys, not least re Peet; even with the best will in the world, the guy is on the back foot from Day 1.

i suppose in 1 sense he was right. Saints had only looked like scoring once and then an easy ball steal on the line, so i could understand if thats where he was coming from
outside of that, we had created nothing at all in attack and hadnt put any form of pressure on Saints defensively, and the build up of ball / pressure showed in the 2nd half as tehy didnt need to do that much to win the game

It’s that kind of delusion that infuriates me. How can Rads and IFL not see through this delusion? If he thinks we were in great shape at HT our standards have fallen not so much through the floor but all the way to Earths core.
Uncle Mo wasn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination but this wouldn’t have been accepted. This policy of not sacking a coach mid season is codswallop. It really is. You’re not telling me a guy who is on a year to year contract would have been expensive to fire off? You’re also not thing me that we couldn’t afford to fire him off and get a better coach in? Aka Brian McDermott?
I find myself getting so disillusioned with Wigan RL these days. I can’t bring myself to find anything positive about the place. And that’s actually quite upsetting really. I don’t remember feeling like this about Wigan even in 2006.

I’m not sure that we can fix our many issues before tomorrow night which has been further compounded by the latest bans on two of our most experienced players.
I agree with you 100% that our single biggest issue is that we are so slow in attack that we will be vulnerable against any team and with Leeds needing wins to move up the table another defeat I think is almost inevitable.
I am a bit nonplussed with the Peet appointment and on balance would probably go with a new broom so to speak however, there would be as much risk in going that route so at this point I just hope that IL has made the right decision.

| This weeks BBC RL 5Live Podcast has Kevin Brown, Phil Wilkinson and Gareth Walker on all discussing Wigan and not once do any of them mention the main issue - the coach.
KB almost gets there but bottles it. Phil Wilkinson plays it like we’re all fickle and it’ll be reet if we win 2 games and Gareth Walker just a mix of both. Why do we have such abysmal journalists and pundits who are scared of touching the real issue? If this was football and say Jurgen Klopp with Liverpool the press would be circling like vultures. I’m not saying that’s right but at least they’ve got bottle to actually say what the fans are thinking and not make it up like PW.

TBH I feel it is a bit of both.
I think it’s time for a change and I don’t feel Lam is getting what he should out of this team and hasn’t done throughout his tenure.
Having said that there are a number of mitigating factors that are out of Lam’s control. We have, yet again had a significant number of injuries and we are clearly fatigued with the frequency of games we have played. He doesn’t have the personnel up front which the GB fiasco was meant to resolve.

Local media struggle with the football as well as the rugby. I suppose it’s probably to do with access to the clubs and it being removed as is sometimes the case elsewhere. The level of scrutiny doesn’t go anywhere near far enough which is why last week’s mauling by Sculthorpe et al, although painful to watch, actually had a lot of truth in it.
