Yeah ok pal.
I'm sorry that I'm not overly enamoured with what's obviously your favourite player.

| Quote ="sergeant pepper"Kings getting better, I'll give him that. A couple of bad drops (from memory & not watched it back), but overall positive.
I still think we'd be better served getting a big South Sea Islander in for 2024 tho.'"
If I were looking at 2024, I’d be trying to get in Tom Davies (who is off contract), with a view to moving French to fullback, Field to 6 and I’d be offering Mason Lino a deal to replace Cust. We could then go Field at 1 or 6, French at 1 or 2, Lino at 6,7 or 9 and Smith starts with the 7 shirt (but is under pressure from Lino).
The main focus though will need to be on the pack. Mago is surely a goner, KPP is off, Isa looks close to the end, Singleton is no better than a back up option, Cooper isn’t playing at his best and Ellis is just summed up by shrugging your shoulders. He looks like he needs a fire work up his backside.
There could well be a pretty big turnover for next year looking at things at the moment.

One of our best players this year yes.
Just wonder why you seem to think an “Islander” is the right way to go?
What does an Islander bring? Name a player, not a nationality.
Very odd.
Also did I get it right about you wanting us to sign Atoni for 24?

It's pretty obvious, unless you wanna be a d!ck about it, what an Islander type of centre is. The games has been and is littered with them - in fact there was a good one playing against your bff tonight. I'll not name him, but you'll know who I mean. How? Because he's a stereotypical "islander" type centre.
I actually thought Antoni was good Vs Salford last week. Not sure if you watched that game , but he looked much improved from the guy I saw play against Wigan. I'll admit however, he's not been as good as I thought he would be. He was excellent Vs Leeds in pre-season & I bought too much into the hype.
Look at that I've changed my opinion of a player, based off what I've seen with my own eyes - imagine that. I mean it would have been a lot easier to make up some convoluted lie
about "how his game is about the stuff you don't see", but it's just simpler to say he's not as good as I hoped.

How did the “Islander” do tonight for Salford?
Are there not plenty of other nationalities playing the game at a high level?
Should we disregard Australian or Kiwi players etc because they are not “Islanders”.
King was the best centre on the field tonight despite a presence of an “Islander” so I’m confused by your stance.

| Agree with the points Jon.
I’m willing to give Wardle time. Think he’s the least of our worries.
Agree that King is doing well. Feel a bit sorry for him having to play wing as he’s no pace. He’s our best yardage ball carrier along with Marshall. Has an offload too.

Agreed we have issues of bigger concern I just think given his potential Wardle has been a little slow to adapt to his new surroundings.

| Wardle and King both been underwhelming so far I hope both improve or else time to hook ‘em out and get Thornley back in the side but time yet.

| I agree with the consensus that King has done pretty well, and Wardle hasn't shown too much so far. But there's plenty to work on as far as our attacking shape, or lack of it, is concerned.

| The problem for our centres is that the ball never goes past the second rowers. Very rarely do they get any quality ball in good position.

Totally disagree with this yeah might not have been his best game last night but we don’t get 2 points at Huddersfield last week if it wasn’t for Wardle

We hit Farrell almost every single time we go to the left. I’m not bagging Wardle yet he’s pretty solid even without hitting top form. We are too reliant on Farrell punching holes that way.

114 for Faz. Seemed to be a tactic to get him over Croft after listening to Harry Smith after the game

It’s been effective for years but we still need some variety. It was turgid for a lot of last night in attack.

Haven't you read this thread? We're already getting a good return out if him. Without him breaking any pots he's posting 100+ metres every game, been solid in defence and scored the winning try on Friday. It's 6 games in and playing in a team not yet firing. What exactly were you expecting?

More than happy to keep him on his form so far. He’s putting in one hell of a shift for the team and looks happy to be at the club.

Part of that is that Farrell has been a constant for 10years + in the side
he runs some excellent lines and has worked with Green, Williams, Tommy, Smith etc, and they all seem to be able to hit him and put him into gaps. He is also very difficult to put down, just note how often he is tackled and is stood and ready to play the ball
Wardle has been at the club for a couple of months and played 6 games, so it will take time, not only to understand how he runs best, but for others to get used to him as well.
Once we've sussed the best way, and you have both of them running at pace, then surely it will be a nightmare to defend against as they wont know which player is getting the ball.

I agree that Wardle needs to up his workrate but he’s settling in and he will get better. He’s an upgrade on Bibby or Isa at the very least.'"
What happened to King? At Wire he could jump and contest a high ball....has Peet given him lead boots?

I was expecting the same, with him and Wardle and KPP added in to be more of a threat from high kicks

| I got shot down for this on the wire board, but I think King would make a very good second rower. He played there a couple of times for us and I thought he looked good. He is FAR too slow to be a top quality centre and he gets exposed a bit defensively. However, he makes good yards running the ball in hard and straight, plus he can get an offload away. His speed would also be perfectly acceptable for someone playing in the back row.
