| As a neutral supporter I kept switching on and off after 20 mins, not a good advert for the game, Wigan turned up expecting a difficult 20 mins and got the equivalent of ai training session.
I thought Wigan could have scored 100 points to nil today and I reckon Brian Noble was dissapointed that the monkey on his back wiith Bradford still stands.

| I felt sorry for London in May when we battered them in front of a few thousand. However the drubbing they took yesterday was humiliation on a national scale. It has done RL no good whatsoever. Those Broncos players should be ashamed of themselves for such an inept, second-rate performance - remember, their salary cap is exactly the same as Wigans!

| Well done Wigan. I hope the final is against Wire and all neutral fans can enjoy a great contest (that my team Leeds have not managed against either team at Wembley recently ).
Was dreading a scoreline like yesterday. I know Wigan can only beat what is put in front of them on the pitch, but London are an utter discrace to RL in this country. Please, please RFL put London out of their pathetic misery and end the embarrassment in the capital.

To be fair though, your drubbing was after a 2 day turnaround from your biggest game of the season. London had all week to prepare and yet still got humiliated in a semi final! If that had been your lot it would have been much much closer.

| While the above complaints are valid, I don't recall the same complaints about the '92 semi-finals against Bradford in the CC and Leeds in the Premiership...

| I enjoyed it. It's been a very patchy six weeks and we now need to go into the final in great form (still think we can grab top-spot back)!
Hopefully injuries will be kind to us from now on!

| I enjoyed getting to Wembley - and knowing we were there by half-time was more enjoyable than sweating it out until the very last minute.
But some of the other points are valid. It undoubtedly made for a poor spectacle. However, I think this sort of thread should be posted on the London board rather than the Wigan board.
I'm not sure what some neutrals expect - that Wigan should go easy on their opponents in order to entertain the fair-weather masses? Wigan have been out-of-sorts for several weeks now, and a game like that could have been just what they needed for everything to click back into place, and for the recuperating injuries to get some game-time under their belts in an important match. So there were definite upsides to it for us.
If that viewpoint cuts no ice, then the next place you need to go is the RFL to question the validity of the Challenge Cup, which of course many people now do - because only in the Challenge Cup can the luck of the draw enable absolute losers to reach the semi-finals. At one time that used to be called 'the Magic of the Cup', but we seem to be a more cynical breed these days, who aren't interested in fairy stories.

| I don't think anyone is criticising Wigan, they drew London and played their game, it really should have been more than 70 because Wigan couldn't put it together at the start of the game.
I'll be honest i think this is one of the very few times i've actually wanted Wigan to win <shakes violently, runs bath> because i want to see a Wigan/Wire final, now just hope we can get there and really show the neutrals what an actual great game of rugby can look like

| It was grim for the neutral, really grim.
But ultimatly it was the result we all wanted, a wigan warrington final will be awesome. Just the manner of the game was shocking.

| Interesting points throughout this thread and I'm glad I'm not the only one with those views. It isn't Wigan's fault they stuck that many points on London, but it definitely highlights major flaws within our domestic game.
For the casuals who only see it on the BBC, it must have been a bit of a confusing mess. Two 'top tier' sides in the Leagues premier stage of a season long knock out comp..
It sounds good on paper if you're unfamiliar with the game.
The final will be something special, but will the TV audience be reminded of how it happened?

There weren't many rugby league fans complaining about the '05 quarter final against Saints either.

| I think it helps for the neutral that it was Wigan dishing out the hiding, as we are the most famous team, and for many who only watch the game occasionally, having the chance to see the wonder of a world famous brand would be a great throw back to when the game was at he height of its popularity.
Had a much less famous brand - say, Warrington - won, it would have done more harm to the game.
I was reading an article which said that while people like evenness of competition they also love greatness. Who complains that Bolt always slaughters his opposition.
For someone tuning in for the first time in a while they would have seen a world famous brand putting on an exhibition. The broader context would hardly register.

| I did, game practically won by half time, no nail biting, no clock watching, no near heart attacks, superb, these edge of the seat semi finals are no good to me or my blood pressure, close fought big games are only fine when they are over and you've won, 70-0 that'll do nicely.

And some good shirt stripping action from the dressing room.
You'll never be accused of being camera shy.

| Type of game that is only interesting if you are a fan of the team handing out the whipping. Was a game that would always come in for criticism - if we won by a shed load that would be wrong in some folk's eyes and if we had played half heartedly and let London in to the game we would have been the laughing stock of super league, no win situation really. Amused me to see on the Hudds board they are not happy about Eddie appealing for folk to go to their games yet have a go at us for what they perceive as a poor attendance yesterday.
By the way - wonder what the hell Jamie Soward made of all that and did he fly out this morning or last night

| After about 15 minutes we watched the game on fast-forward, seriously - not kidding.
By the second half the youngest and I were betting each other with who'd score next to add a little excitement to, what was for a neutral a very boring game.
Not blaming Wigan at all - you play the team that's put in front of you. Just a shame that team was as pathetic as London. This game will be remembered for one thing and one thing only, the score line.

I'd argue that most semis aren't remembered anyway.
That one today may be. The Wigan v Saints semi in 1990 may be. The Wigan v Hull KR in 1985. Not many others.
