The bars & refreshment areas in the ground are open, but "you won't be allowed to drink alcohol anywhere you can see the pitch from".

So basically: drink in pubs & bars, and not in the street or at your seat.

usually they are not too stringent on the drinking on the streets. They have the cordens and big bottle bins where you have to put all bottles and cans before you reach the actual ground.

I think you can drink in the ground but not in the seating/bowl area. I am sure you can all manage for 40 mins before having another drink if not you should be attending AA.

I can't remember the last time I went to a GF without seeing trouble. While I'm not saying everybody who has a drink causes trouble, I am sure that everybody who causes trouble has had a drink.

Best of all, it will stop the constant parade of people who are there less for the rugby than the beer and spend the entire game going: bar - toilet - bar - toilet - bar - toilet - bar - toilet - bar - toilet, etc.

We were in the North stand at the corner with the East and they ran out of beer before the kick off. They re-stocked it but it ran out again during half time. Surely Old Trafford have presented enough big games and Grand Finals to know what to expect or is it just that Wiganers on Saturday were more thirsty than other teams.


Either way I bet someone at Old Trafford got their a*se kicked because of the loss of revenue they could have taken, especially at £3.20 a can.
