Why did we not try and command a transfer fee for Gleeson instead of simply mutually terminating his contract as it seems? It leaves a bad taste in the mouth that a player we spent 100k on has left for free and signed an 18 month deal with a rival club. Its a similar situation to the one in which we signed him in and we had to stump up the money for him!

I doubt Hull will be paying him as much as we were - Hull wouldn't want to take him on what Wigan were paying him. The circumstances are very different from when Gleeson joined Wigan. I don't have a major issue with IL on this, unless I'm missing something?

Im not having a pop at IL, I really feel for the guy that he invested 100k in Gleeson then had to let him go for free. I don't doubt that Gleeson had to go at all either it just seems that we've been stung twice here by losing a good player and receiving no compensation, unless we sign a quality replacement.

Not trolling here -serious question. Are there any top class non-quota cetres around who are off contract? Presumably you could sign someone who has something like a Tongan passport ala Mason at KR but I am assuming there is unlikely to be a reaplcement until next season.

We have a quota spot available and Gleesons wage to sign someone. Dont think theres anyone of note available to jump straight in to replace him but you never know who may come available. The question has to be who will have the say on who will be signed with Madge leaving at the end of the season him? or Wane?
