You can certainly guarantee (b) for Wigan's game.

I suspect that refers to what happens if we are in the top four after 23 games (thus meaning we would get a further four home games rather than three). They will likely take the extra home game on the road, whether your season would still count given that it's technically a home fixture is anyone's guess, I suspect not and you will get 14 games for it regardless of where we finish

Given that the additional fixtures are taking place during the football season, and wont actually be confirmed until August, is it not likely that more than 1 of these Super 8 fixtures may have to be moved to an alternate venue?

They probably where doing but i think this game will end up being classed as an 'on the road' game in a way to try and put a positive spin on the stadium not being available.

Doubt it, they generally manage with the play offs

| Any update on this yet from Wigan?
In League Weekly Andy Gatcliffe (Warrington's Chief Executive) seems pretty certain that Warrington are playing on the Friday and Saints on the Sunday. He does actually refer to the three games being played in"proper rugby league stadiums", I wonder if this means the HJ Stadium, Langtree Park and Leigh Sports Village?

Yes I remember thinking at OT in 2013 just after we'd dispatched Wire to win the double - now if only we owned our own stadium, then I'd really be able to enjoy this.
In a similar way I'd imagine that fans of AC Milan can't really enjoy their 7 European Cups because they share their stadium.
And I'm gutted and think it's outrageous that the RFL are giving Saints and Wire 2 extra points in the league next season because they own their own grounds.

Do you think? In not sure tbh. At the moment it just feels a bit like we're playing a pre season friendly against them (Shaun Wane seemed to feel similar in his interview on the sports bible) and it will all act as a bit of a reminder of the one that got away at Old Trafford.
I'll be there don't get me wrong and my attitude may change. The format doesn't help. It should be in some sort of tournament set up with all 6 having the chance of winning the WCC trophy.

| So Latics have shifted their match to a Friday night to make way for a RL pre-season friendly? Interesting!

| I wonder if the RFL/WiganRLFC offered Whelan the opportunity to have an England v New Zealand test match at his stadium provided that Wigan could play the WCC game at the DW on Sat 21st Feb.
Having a RL International at your stadium is, I believe, very lucrative.
An interesting turn of events.

I think you are right on this one. It's the way these things are negotiated. Of course, with the RFL wanting to stage one of the games in Lancashire and with the Saints, Warrington and Salford grounds being far too small to hold the game it makes sense to hold it at the DW.
They'd want to hold one of the tests in Wigan anyway. My guess would be Huddersfield and Hull for the other two. They could probably sell out those three with some decent marketing.

As much as it's funny to wind Wigan fans up about the stadium, this is really good news. Can't wait for these three games, hopefully all in front of big crowds.

| The ticket prices make perfect sense Rogues. Why would a friendly be as expensive as the World Club Challenge?
Nice to see you're still hanging around redvee after your ban.

| I'd guess all the sides/the RFL will want to make a similar amount of money from each game. Wires ground is the smallest so the tickets are the most expensive.
A touch unfair on the Wire fans but there's still plenty of affordable tickets.

You may well be right, Wire only have a small stadium so can afford to charge a higher price because not that many can fit in!

I yearned for the days when a 15,000 crowd for a rugby league club game was called "small"
I hope all games sell well particularly ours and Wigans which do have that little touch of "only a friendly" about them.
I would love the Wire game to sell out especially given some of the prices of those more expensive tickets, but I'll be happy being in a packed south stand in 10,000 crowd and having paid £2.50 more than normal....
