That’s not a patch on the Aussie pack.
More English players need to go the NRL and prove their worth. It made Morley at better player, it’s working for Ellis and I hope it works for Burgess to.
Graham, Carvell and Roby’s game would all step up a notch if they started playing at that much higher level.
At the end of the day what do they learn or how do they improve playing against Celtic, Salford etc…..

I dont see the superiority there, i personally havnt jumped on the Price/Civoneceva bandwagon. Waterhouse is average in my opinion but Smith Watmough and Hindmarsh are undoubtedly class, even though Hindmarsh wasnt deemed good enough for NSW.
Morley, Roby, Peacock, Burgess, Ellis, OLoughlin
vs
Price, Smith, Civoneceva, Hindmarsh, Watmough, Gallen
No contest at hooker but every other position i would prefer the English player.

Well that illustrates why you support Wigan....better get to specsavers and remove those rose tinted specs.Harrison has been in great form and is going to be a great player. Come back when your team has won something.Tell you what lets put all the wigan players that are eligible inthe team and lets see them choke again.
Prescott has been outstanding for you and is unfortunate that the position he plays is well covered.

Joel tomkins is a better forward than harrison, gleeson is a better centre than bridge.
That is not with rose tinted glasses.

Wire win one CC and now they are the big dogs in town!
You didn’t even make the play offs but yet your trying to say that your players deserve a shot at the England team??? Get real mate.
Harrison has had a good season but he’s no where near the level of Ellis, Burgess, Lockers, Westwood, Westerman, JJB & Wilkin or even Tickle. At the end of day he’s only in there because he plays for Warrington.

Tomkins is a fine player, but I think he has too many errors and penalties in his game at the moment, he needs to work on that IMO. Harrison also hits harder in defence IMO.

He was, but I've been more impressed with Bridge than Gleeson this season by a fair margin. Which is saying something as I rate Gleeson and think Bridge is a kn*b.

| Anyone who thinks are pack is anywhere near the aussies pack needs their head testing. We are light years behind them, hell, we struggled against a load of part timers from PNG. We hear it before every international against the aussies "our pack is better", then our pack ends up being smashed by them.

| it is just peoples opinions. i for one think that harrison and bridge deserve their places in the squad. both have had brilliant years. however it is only a train on squad. many wiganers think that harrison and bridge should not be in it, however, if they both played for wigan it would be different and would be callin them to be included. gleeson has done nothing to warrant a place in the squad and to be fair it is only tomkins and o loughlin who deserve and probably gaz hock if he was still palying. joel tomkins is not a better forward then ben harrison. this is my opinion and you lot think that tomkins is a better forward. of course everyone going to stick up for their club players.

Our right side defence in the world cup was pitiful so don't see how Bridge can be any worse.

| I see Keith Senior might be coming out of retirement according to the [url=http://www.englandrl.co.uk/article.php?id=15600England RL site.[/url If he declares himself available I wouldn't give Gleeson a game anyway to be honest, might have been worth keeping in the squad for injuries though.

Harrison shown in the world cup last year he can play at a very high level, he is far, far better than Tomkins and Bridge has been immense this season and has alot more utility value than Gleeson.

I like Harrison, I think he's very underrated and will be a good player for years to come. He hits hard and doesn't give many free yards away. Has great potential IMO and deserves his England call up, even if he doesn't make the 17 the experience will help.

But Bridge over Gleeson How Stupid

| I thought Joel might have got in the training squad. Surprsed Gleeson isn't in although you can blame Smith for looking to the futue although I don't think Shenton is the answer.

I'd have said the same thing, big mobile forwards - however Joel gives away far too many penalties.

It's true actually, and it's not like he needs the experience and it will do him any good! He has done it all before. Sam Tomkins, Lockers and Hansen will all benefit from the experience but Gleeson wouldn't, the pre-season will be better for him!

Inglis got a hat-trick last time he played left centre against Gleeson at right centre.
It's good to see plenty of Pie-eaters recognising that Gleeson's omission is surprising but understandable and that Harrison and Bridge are both excellent young players.

We are going to struggle desperately. The dearth of world class talent in the Soopah Doopah League is going to be totally exposed.
