| Nasty one for Havard. His elbow was bent way beyond where it should go.
Looked very painful and likely a long recovery.
We're now down 2 more 2nd row's and 1 more prop long term injuries. Going to be a challenging few months

8 weeks for KPP and 'months' for Isa. Nsemba and Hill will get gametime but even with them involved we could do with bringing someone in from the outside.

| Quote ="DannyT"Cheers to you too. There really are a set of people on here who elevate themselves on a pedestal, get over yourselves. That first half had few positives. The second half, was much more controlled with a struggle trying to get Shorrocks into a position to have an impact from any interchanges because he’s just a body now without a position. Wardle (as previously mentioned), Nsemba and French the positives but it’s all we can rely on at the minute in attack with French, he’s carrying everyone else.'"
Bl00dy hell! And there I was thinking we won. Didn't realise we were completely outplayed, dominated in the forwards and had few positives. Must have been an embarrassing scoreline. I'll go and check what it was...
Strange. All the reports have us as winning too. Can't believe they've all got it so wrong. What a bunch of numpties.

I would need to watch it back, but I don't think it's anything to do with French. The support player over runs him. Luckily (or unluckily as we still had to defend a tackle or two) Newman realises and goes alone.

| I thought it was great defence from French. He shapes to go right to the support runner and Newman takes it.

Great to get the win after the last 2 weeks, bit of perspective though. We were one selfish decision (by Newman) away from going out.

That's what the other posters mean by constantly negative. You could equally say we were 2 forward passes and a dropped ball by French from winning it far more comfortably. You could equally say we were Harry Smith's kicking boots away from Newman's poor decision not mattering anyway. You could, if you really wanted, credit French's excellent play to deny Newman. You didn't. You chose the negative point of view. Again.

I prefer to focus on what I said earlier in what was undoubtedly obvious that Wardle had his best and most effective game for us or Nsemba stepping up like we need him too. I shouldn’t have forgotten that the clique on here that has driven away so many people over the years pull rank when there’s other views offered.

There's nothing wrong with other views but we've just won a challenge cup tie. It doesn't matter if it's by 1 point or a hundred, if we played well or scraped through or anything in between. Most people on here are fans who want to celebrate after a win. Sure we can comment about good and bad but the unrelentingly negative is just wearisome. When you go to the pub and there's some moaning git who always brings the atmosphere down no one says "well done mate. We needed to hear you whinge, that's what the night was missing" do they? Why do you think it's any different on here? Enjoy the win, mate. Life's too short.

I have enjoyed the win to be fair, I’ve said as much regarding Wardle, Nsemba, French and the second half performance digging in. I don’t like seeing the same errors every week making things more difficult for players in the team who have a high level of consistency and most likely seem to be working harder to improve in training. That’s just my observation on what I see.

Probably so but there is a wealth of forward talent coming through, time to have faith in them.

Just enjoy the win,we lost a week ago to 12 men but managed to win this time.
That says we eradicated the errors you mentioned enough to post a win,job done !.

Every game is based on moment and decisions, a knock on, a missed tackle, a bad read, not passing when you should. By the same token as Newman not passing, French took the dummy in the first half (both errors) so they even out.

| If we could kick goals, the Newman decision doesn’t matter. It’s all ifs and buts, although at 4 try’s to 2, I think the best side on the day won.

| Watch the formation at the scrum before the winning try. Hampshire and French are stood side by side directly behind the scrum - French and Smith break right and Hampshire goes left. Caused a moment of hesitation from Gannon which created an opening - very smart and difficult to defend.

| Nice to see a guy in Hampshire look comfortable in just throwing a short pass. That ball to Wardle could’ve hit his knees or smashed in to his face this past few months.

| Just like to echo the well done's to Rocky, first full game back after a bad injury into a team that had to be a bit low on confidence and a knockout game to boot, well played sir.
Also, same as everyone I wish we could get another 10mins/game out of him but I thought Mago caused the Leeds pack all sorts of bother when he was on, they seemed to have all sorts of bother bringing him down.

| Again, credit where it s due, we have some of the best scrum attacking moves.
As the above poster mentioned, french and Rocky lined up together , the pass delayed a fraction and everyone naturally follows French and the right side switch off a split second. That's the beauty of having two pivots with pace .

Helped turn the game along with Nsemba. He’s been pretty good this past few weeks. His concentration levels look to be up and the silly mistakes down. IMO it’s too little, too late and him showing he can concentrate and play well now only adds to the feeling that it’s right that he’s let go. We need players who don’t need a new contract offer to motivate them and concentrate their minds. Having a player needing to earn a move elsewhere in the next few months could be handy though.

I think he’ll be kept on but they should be having a serious talk to him. I think he’s lucky in the sense that other than Satate there isn’t really anyone as a realistic target. He’s knocked the silly knock ons on the head which is good he needs to stick with his role of running hard and being awkward to put down. He had a few good offloads last year (the one at Warrington comes to mind) hopefully this will come about again but for now the risk isn’t needed. He’s looking like he’s trimmed down which is good. Needs work on bigger minutes

If I was the club I would probably say to him, line in the sand and prove over the next four to six weeks that he's worth keeping on for another twelve months. The ball really is in his court.

| Hull rumoured to have signed Franklin Pele he is an absolute monster in the mould of the traditional impact prop.
I’m personally not sure this is they style of forward we go after any more though.
I think we have burned by their inconsistency too often. I think Mago will go if we can secure a suitable replacement capable of doing bigger minutes.
Dupree would be ideal. Very rarely does a player put in a transfer request and not end up leaving and it will be interesting to see if he becomes available if we go after him.

| Finally watched the game as I was busy at the weekend.
Nowhere near as bad as I was expecting in the first half (perhaps because I knew the final result). Very loose in defence and soft at times but we could have easily had 3 tries on the board. French forward pass to Wardle, Marshall forward to french and French just missing catching a kick.
Great resilience to get back in the game.
All the outside backs carried carried hard, Wardle was super and could start standing out more on dry tracks.
Nsemba was brilliant, his leg drive post contact was great and a couple of late offloads. Took his try well.
I’m not a fan but thought Mago had a decent game, had to put down and a couple of our tries game off the back off good carries from him.
Smithies and French were superb.
Hampshire was just solid (the opposite of Cust the week before). Just got the ball where it needed to go and defended okay. Hope he continues to play until Field returns.
