| Quote ="Bigredwarrior"There are aspects of this that I agree with and many that I don’t.
Lack of innovation and vision I disagree with wholeheartedly. We played a SL in Sydney, we’re playing in Barcelona, we took a game to London. We have new corporate sponsors and have Central Park and Robin Park. There is very obvious innovation and strategic vision.
Fans taken for granted and half ar5ed? I’m not sure what that means?
I see things differently I suppose. Since IL bought the club he’s been incredible for us. It was he that identified and brought in Madge and that’s when the fortunes of the club really turned round for the better. His policy of investing in youth has clearly paid off.
It was time for Shaun Wane to go. We enjoyed success but as with most things, he reached the end of his shelf life.
Make no mistake about it, Edwards was nailed on to be our next coach. There was no smoke and mirrors or publicity stunt, he was our next coach and the whole circus around him is entirely his doing. The chairman is not at fault, regardless of what has been said publicly.
Still, we need to freshen things up. Starting immediately with the appointment of our new coach (hopefully Lammy) and some clarity around succession planning.'"
I need some more information before I agree with how innovative we’ve been. The Millwall game and Hull game, what were the actual benefits to us? Playing home games ‘away’ is not innovative but insulting to a home fanbase but I appreciate that is my opinion. Do we ‘have’ Robin Park as I thought from limited info available we were selling our asset at Orrell and trading in for rent at Robin Park! I’m highly concerned about the lack of assets on the balance sheet and is this a pre-cursor to Lenegan turning his lot in for someone else? I was supportive of Lenegan in what he did after the Whelan years but there has been a tail off in what people perceive to be his focus on what’s going on at the club. Crowds massively down, poorly managed release of information which is something his regime has actually been much better at. With regards to Lam as the coach going forward, I’d just like a proper and thorough recruitment process and not just some charity case of a decision to give it because he’s already here.

Hankinson will never be good enough to play Superleague as long as he’s got a hole in his back side.

Feel a bit sorry for him, second time he's got a start this season in his preferred position and second time he's been forced out to the wing.

His quick feet to leave Lomax on his rump was one of my fav parts of the game.
He's been playing lower level, then is asked to step in in pretty much the highest standard game possible in SL, and to play out of position on the wing. I wouldn't judge him too harshly.

| The point is Hankinson and Isa are both behind Farrell and Greenwood in the 2nd row.
If one of those two are missing I'd prefer Hankinson over Isa, that's all.
For third choice both are capable under a capped salary bill.

| Not sure what basis anybody could have for saying they’d play Hankinson over Isa in the backrow all on the back of a short spell at Salford on Easter Monday. It’s just a hunch pick with no basis or previous form to back it up.
You may as well say you’d prefer Escare at hooker over Powell even though he’s never played there just because it’s Powell.
I have nothing against us looking at Hankinson at second row by the way but at least give him and Isa a few games before giving a judgment.

| What have Isa & Hankinson got to do with Edwards being a coward who reneges on a deal and IL yet again being found out announcing the signing of a non-existent contract?

Me too. He was very good in his spell at Salford and was a key part of our match winning try. He’s big enough and he’s quick. He’s also used to playing on the right.

I’d also leave Smithies in ahead of Isa but I’m conscious he’s still 18 and developing. Wouldn’t want to burn him out through playing too many games.

To be honest Rogues, I have absolutely no interest in anything he does. I’m glad he’s not coming to us and I don’t care two hoots where he ends up.

| The more I see the title for this thread, the more ludicrously ironic it seems.
The only thing clear from this embarrassing roadshow thus far is that Shaun Edwards rates himself more highly than most of his potential employers.
Evidently, Wigan didn't offer enough (despite him having agreed a price with them), England didn't offer enough, Wales didn't offer enough, Wasps didn't offer enough ... so now he's ended up at that last bastion of ludicrous RU overspending, France (though admittedly, he'd probably earn every penny if he could teach that comedy outfit to tackle).
In addition to all that, it's fairly clear that he never seems to mean what he says.
Seriously, could we ever have trusted this guy, contract or not, to even see a single season through as our head-coach if a better offer suddenly came along?

| I think it's time to close this thread.
The guy is obviously just a money-grabbing snake who just used our name for a better deal (where have we seen THAT before?) and will no longer have anything to do with the Wigan coaching setup.
What he chooses to do in RU probably matters about as much to most of us as what colour socks he selects (and it appears that he changes his decision almost daily, along with his socks). It's meaningless.
To quote Negan, it's time to "shut that sh** down".

| When you offered him the role you were about to win a grand final and had some decent players.
Youve since got rid of your only half decent players, replaced them with absolute dross and have no money nor ambition.
Why should the most sought after coach come to a tin pot club with zero ambition?
