| I left it too late this year before considering it, I've managed to get some together. That will now go into my jar named "Catalans away 2012"

| Quote ="twosevenzero"On the last 2 visits to Perp I drank an excellent red called 'LE POT' (no jokes please!), but it went from 3 euros a bottle one year to 12 euros the next, so I shall be on the lookout for a reasonable (cheaper) substitute this time, I'm sure I'll enjoy the search !!'"
FFS don't pay any more than €3 per bottle !!!
there' a lot of snobbery regarding red wine - don't waste your money on the 'posh' stuff - stick to a 'vin de pays' at about €2.50 max
you can't go far wrong with a Corbiéres or Herault or l'Aude at that sort of price....
happy guzzling

Oh without a doubt. Dominus is my current favourite. The problem in France is a combination of availability (outside of Paris) and price.

| For anyone that has booked with RyanAir - you are allowed 10kg hand luggage which has got to be a case 50cm x 40cm!

| simply supermarche = €1 for a bottle of wine. sold in a plastic bottle mind you
carrefour market = €0.83 for a bottle of white.
tastes like paint stripper but does the job
also, Fitz Brau is usually pretty cheap for a crate in Simply Supermarche too.

you can get some decent stuff for about a quid tho' it can rot your guts if you go mad with it !
plastic bottles are normal at that price range tho' I read an article the other day saying that more and more producers are using plastic instead of glass for reasons of cost, recycling & weight etc
a useless piece of info - apparently 90% of all wins sold are drunk within 2 days so that means limited time (very limited in my case !) is spent in the plastic - the other 10% sold is for the 'snob' market ie.those who store their wines for years on end for whatever reason.
jessicarrrrrrr - see you are near Clermont - there's a nice little wine just up the road from you near Vichy called Saint Pourcain - deffo worth a try if you want to splash out at 2/3 euros a bottle = nectar.

Five of us are staying a few miles west of Montpellier there's a chance we may just get a taxi straight to Nimes Airport. (Just to make sure we don't miss the flight home).

as far as I am aware the price doesn't change - the train you are using is called the 'TER' which is your bog standard inter-city train using the Monpellier - Clermont Ferrand main line.
If you click on below you should find the relevant timetable where you will see the travel time is about 30 minutes from Montpellier to Nimes & vice versa.
just in case you have forgotten EVERYTHING despite the GCSE !!! just to remind you
if you look on the timetables you will see things like :
'lun-sam' or lundi - samedi = monday to saturday (excluding sundays obviously)
'tous les jours' = every day (including sundays)
'aller' or 'aller simple' = one way ticket
'aller - retour' = return ticket
you can sometimes get a reduction if you produce a handicapped card or if you are under 25 with a european rail card - as far as I can recall (I don't use the train very much),the return ticket will work out cheaoper but don't hold me to that ! In any case the price will not be exhorbitant for a second-class ticket for such a short journey.
regarding the actual train you require this obviously depends when your flight is to/from Nimes ? speaking of Nimes,it's worth spending some time there cos' it's a really nice place with some good bars/restaurants near the famous Arena
telechargement.ter-sncf.com/Imag ... -55698.pdf
hope this helps
bon voyage
