I'd have thought you'd have spotted that, the amount of time you spend on the Wigan message board. Or is this yet more selective memory from the Wire pipsqueaks?'"
The amount of time I spend on the Wigan board? I think you must be a little light headed ior otherwise. Ashton left the game at the earliest opportunity after a handfull of games, not in the slightest bit comparable as the other three.

The other three are not even an issue - except in your head and the heads of others like you. Ashton was the big loss, though I don't expect you to attach any imporance to that case as it was near enough conclusive proof that the salary cap is screwing certain aspects of our game up. The three departures that you do want to talk about were several years, a couple of coaches and one administration ago now, but don't let that stop you keep raising the subject as if it's of importance.
Wigan aren't doing it any more. Leeds are, but it wouldn't suit your agenda to have a pop at them when you can have a pop at us instead, plus it would mean you spending time away from your favourite place on the internet, wouldn't it. See ... you're not fooling anyone.
And I'll say it again because it's important, Warrington fans can have a viable opinion on the youth structures of their rival clubs on the day they start to produce SL standard players from a youth structure of their own.

What seperates Ashton from 'the other three'?
SL players like Sculthorpe and Harris? Unfortunatley, the emergence of that crop of players coincided with us entering into a rather large financial blackhole, hence their sale and effectively dismantling of the junior set up.
As I have mentioned elsewhere, competing with RU monies it is nigh on impossible. But that doesn't suit your propaganda.
As for my favourite place, I will remain here as long as is required to highlight the nonsense propogated. It doesn't take long for the salary cap agenda to raise it's head, does it?
Apologies to others for derailing the thread, but I can't abide lies and hypocrisy.

Off the field problems, Shi*e and average(at the time) sums the 3 up in that order quite nicely!
Wigan have released many young players over the years but very very few have gone on to become anything we regret letting go. Our crime has been not developing them better whilst they've been here not letting them go when they'd gone completely stale.
I think the only young player everybody truely regrets letting go in the past 10 years has been Shaun Briscoe. The problem with that though was it was his call, Wigan offered him a deal but he had the best fullback in superleague standing in his way at Wigan the Rads looked to have plenty of time left in the game at that point.

Ashton went to RU because of the Money and bad advice from his agent.
Robinson (not Jason) went for reasons best not disused needless to say he will never play for Wigan again.
Aspinwall went because the new coach did not want him at the club.
Wild the same reasons as Aspinwall
Hope that explains it better for you.

Ashton was good, and was missed.
Quote SL players like Sculthorpe and Harris? Unfortunatley, the emergence of that crop of players coincided with us entering into a rather large financial blackhole, hence their sale and effectively dismantling of the junior set up..'"
Everyone has reasons why they don't produce young stars - at least, the clubs who don't produce them do. I'd guess most other SL clubs who fail at this task would argue they also lack the cash. But that doesn't solve SL's essential problem that there aren't enough youngsters being brought into the game - especially when some of the clubs concerned then go and spend a fortune on the likes of Gleeson, Morley, King, Carvell, etc.
Quote As I have mentioned elsewhere, competing with RU monies it is nigh on impossible. But that doesn't suit your propaganda. I'm guessing you don't see the irony in this paragraph?
Quote Apologies to others for derailing the thread, but I can't abide lies and hypocrisy.'"
A classic contradiction in terms. The second half of the sentence basically cancels out the first.

I will make a prediction now.....IF he does go he will not be there long, a season or 2 and he will be back, he is not the Jason Robinson that the Union boys are so desperate to find in League again, and due to his physical size limitations in my opinion he will really struggle in the outside backs in Union.
If he is getting the right advice he will be playing League in and aboud the ruck/halves for all his career where he can use his natural ability and gifts to the greatest effect.

He will be played there but i personally do not think he will perform to the levels they hope, although there is nothing he can do about it he will be a huge target for the taller outside union backs.

It makes me glad that Sam is an awkward, scrawny type character who doesn't really have a natural role in Union. At least, I hope he doesn't.
That said, if Eastmond goes - and he's clearly a young man with a big future - I hope the RFL wake up to this threat, and try to take some action. Even if he's only gone a few short years, RU could still ruin him - a la Iestyn Harris.
We don't produce anything like enough good halfbacks in GB. We can ill afford to lose someone like Eastmond.

I'd take Boyle.
He's always seemed like a decent player although a little clumbsy.
Best of all, he's only 21.

| Griffin is around 6'5" and 18st, O'Carroll isn't.
I can understand why we are having to go with the same pack, more or less!
IL won't pay "Wigan Style" money anymore and the tax laws are changing. Looking for British may be the only option as well as the overseas quota changing in 2010 and 2011.

| Back to the subject of props.
The SMH says today that Brisbane Broncos are looking to offload players for the 2010 season and Joel Clinton is one of them.
Does anyone who's watched the NRL recently rate him, could he do a job for us?
