Many like myself will have got them from St Helens. They also go on general sale at Wigan tomorrow don't they. I'd guess at around 4,000 Wiganers there on Sat.

Got to say 4,000 is pretty pi*s poor imo considering they always bring around 5-6k to our place. This is the biggest Derby in 5 years and we've got a realistic chance of pulling the win off....i'd have expected every man and his dog to be wanting to go to this one. I know nowsley Road is a sh*thole but what an atmosphere.

The Wigan Public(both Rugby and Football fans) are just strange.

Tickets have only been on sale 2 days and alot have bought from staints, there will be alot more than 4,000 wigan fans there.

Hope so because imo there should be.

No excuses not to have at least 5,000 there if not nearer 6 or 7k.

This is strange considering we have taken more to leeds in recent years for the play-offs.

I think we just don't snap em up really quick, once they go on general sale people will start buying. Our fans always seem to prefer friday night games.

Who's to say there won't be a lot more than 4k, I was only guessing. Like I said they go on general sale tomorrow so you would expect a fair few more to shift.

Having said that, Saints' away support does tend to be better than ours even though our home support is way higher.

Someone who frequents these boards on a regular basis works there.

i got mine at about 2 pm on tuesday and got straight through, no problems.

to be fair how many does knowsley road hold (safely) if we get 6/7k that will be half the grounds capacity, for and away team thats massive.
i think 4/5k is more realistic, for a saturday night in a hole for a ground, i don't see it being a bad amount.

If we get 5,000 under the roof of that away end, it will sound like 50,000.

They always used to give a standard crowd figure of 15,100 for big supposed sell outs at Saints but they gave a 17,000+ crowd v Wire this year which is what boosted there average.

An increased capacity was granted a couple of years ago - 15,100 to 17,500 I think. Ground improvements

Anyone know roughly what the Wigan "end" holds. I know it merges into the smellins bits but could we get 5000 behind the sticks?

They've built a new wall for us to pi$$ on.

Will be something like that but theres no way of putting an exact figure on it. I'd say 5,000 at the away "end", 8,000 on the side and 4,000 between the ricket stand and the open end? As a guess?

A bit more concrete round the safety barriers and some holes in the roof fixed.

Personally think making it all ticket will have a big effect on the attendance. it rules out any possible last minute walk up. I personally always just pay on the door at saints

Regardless of all ticket, if this game doesnt sell out by Friday, we might as well give up with trying to make RL appear a proper sport.

I'd be surprised if this did sell out, the league games have only sold out a couple of times in the last few meetings, and that includes ST holders.

IMO this is the kind of game that is hampered by the quality of the ground. I wouldn't take kids to this kind of game, where you know the terraces will be packed, and you would have to get in an hour early to get them a spec. At the DW or somewhere like the HJ you can book decent seats and not have to worry about them.

I think plenty of families will just watch it on TV.

If Wigan can take over 4k, which looks very likely, then the atmosphere will be excellent. I thought you made plenty of noise at Hull last week, so hopefully this will come across well on Sky too after all the criticism of the playoff crowds.
