so you somehow managed to miss the many posts from users on this forum putting forward arguments FOR Sam playing and how it would be beneficial?

How about you find all the stories in the media this past week relating to Wigan and Wakefield or even any other team in SL and see which has had the most coverage.
That should answer your question.

That is a cop out.
Plenty of people such as myself see no benefit in Sam playing in that match and nothing you have posted over the last 60 odd pages convinces me this was part of Wigan's ambition to do anything.

im not trying to convince you Dave...
im merely pointing out to our sheep loving friend that if he/she cares to read previous posts in this thread, i wont have to regurgitate information for him/her from the many users who are of the same opinion as myself (and yes, they are plenty of people with the exact opposite opinion)

You utterly miss the point. I dont care about Wigan or Sam Tomkins, only the game of RL.
If you think all of this shows ambition, please tell me why and take your head from the dark place that you like to keep it and realise that you have been abused by the RFU.
Although there has been a monetary gain, some things are more important and in the context of this forum, Rugby League should be at the top of everyones agenda.
Not 1 club, 1 person but the good of the sport.

i actually agree with part of your post, RL is the most important aspect of this and, so far, not one thing has been done to damage our sport (if it has, please feel free to provide your proof).
maybe you should look towards what your own club is doing (or, more to the point, not doing) for RL to realise where the true problems lie in our sport. if you arent moving forwards, your going backwards and its clubs like Wakefield that are doing considerable damage to RL in this country and holding the more 'ambitious' clubs like Wigan back
and yes Dave, this is a cop out as its home time and i have a life outside of work/rugby league to get to
bbfn children...

In my opinion quite the opposite. The fact that they consistently failed to get a pass to Sam for the entire game then when they actually do he makes scoring a try look like a walk in the park showed that RL is superior in development and technique (due to the fact that in RL he would have scored several as the passes would have actually reached him)

If that was the case, that "not 1 club but the good of the sport" was the most important, I presume you'd be all for your team and their ilk kindly leaving SL and letting the big teams compete at a higher level?

Which higher level do you want to play at ?
And as an advocate of promotion and relegation, I have no problem with playing at a lower level as long as is not a forced or biased situation.
I presume that you want to be in a 2 team league, where you play Saints every week as long as you win.

| I don't personally think Sam's appearance did us any good or any harm. I'd still rather it hadn't happened, but some things provide benefits which the club can't shout about, so I'm not going to get steamed up about it.
But the idea of a Wakefield fan criticising Wigan for anything is completely laughable.
All the problems in the current game are personified by the likes of Wakefield, who shouldn't even be in Super League, yet who somehow, miraculously, still are.
If anyone wants to know why RL is regarded in Britain as a poor man's sport run by semi-amateurs with no drive or ambition other than to keep eking out a meagre survival on the scraps from other people's tables, they need look no further than one of our current 'top clubs' - Wakefield.

DING DONG.
Totally corrcet Wakefield and other small minded clubs not only keeps the cap at a ridiculously low level but have a ground that is so under developed i have seen better stadiums in the Welsh Amateur football league 10 years ago. If Wakey have not started any redevelopment of the ground which brings is up to SL criteria standard then they must leave SL and make way for a side that has ambition. Why should others bother if they get away with it. Tradition counts fore nothing ask Notts County in football.
SL = no ambition
Wakey = no ambition
But all clubs have to stay at their level and that is wrong.

You're obviously well informed regarding our ground, i'm sorry that no effort has been made towards either improving our ground or indeed moving to a new stadium.
Over on the poor side of the pennines, we are all very humble and equally grateful to our "masters" over the other side.
We of course shouldn't be in SL because you deem us unworthy.
I had previously understood that we remained in SL "on merit" and although I dont deny that, but for the Crusaders demise we perhaps wouldn't be, we are still here fighting our corner and we will be somewhat stronger next seson. We may even have had the nod on a new ground, which would have been well on the way, but for some local government hassles.
Although you are slightly arrogant and a little dismissive towards other clubs, a league for one team has yet to be invented.
You could always speed up the transfer to union and join tha Rah Rah's.

What development has happened on your ground Cas has managed it, Salford, Saints. Leeds are developing headingley nad have been for a while, what makes you so special that you can not meet SL criteria. I can promise to decorate my house or move but means nothing unless something is actually done. Hull has a good ground. I am not arrogant and dismissive towards other clubs but i am towards a club that is holding back the game and keeping the Amateur game alive and well in Super League.

I am certainly dismissive of a Wakefield fan who thinks the biggest problem facing the game is Sam Tomkins guesting, during our off-season, in an RU friendly.

| Let's be clear about this: I am very unhappy about Sam playing for the Barbarians, it isn't good for RL or the Wigan club, but the intervention from the Wakefield fan certainly has put things in perspective.
Wakefield to my mind now personify pretty much everything that is wrong with professional RL. The lack of investment and lack of ambition shown by them and others in SL is what ultimately will be the undoing of our sport as a professional game, not RU.
If RL continues the downward spiral on on player pay in real terms (by keeping the SC at the same figure) then RU will be the least of our worries, in 20 years time RL as a professional sport in Britain will not exist in the form it does today. It will be more like the French domestic RL championship.
Sadly I think that dismal future actually appeals to some of the "level playing field" nutters at the smaller clubs.

Utter garbage. How exactly will you be stronger?
You will still be an awful club, with no ambition, a rubbish stadium and rubbish youth development, if about 80% of fans had there way, you would be long gone out of this league.

I dont undertand why there is so much "hassle" for you to develop your ground? I support a football team called Crewe in League 2 of the football league. They overhauled one of their stands a few years back and it took them only 12 months from idea to completion! I realise that is only one stand but why can such a low down football team manage to do that but a supposedly top tier RL side be incapable? I agree completely with the sentiments that you are holding back SL. I actually tried to stick up for you on your own board last year and wished you all the best in attempting to get your new stadium off the ground and was attacked with a load of self righteous bile just because I was a Wigan fan tbh it was to the level which makes Leeds fans look humble and it wasn't by 1 it was by multiple fans. I no longer have time for your team holding back our League and would rather see the league drop to 10 teams and expand slowly over 10-20 years than see you, and to some small extent but nowhere near the level of you at the minute, castleford hold us back for the next 3 years.

The sport is run democratically by the RFL with member clubs each receiving votes on how the game is governed.
Even our humble little club doesn't agree with everything, however, we abide by the decisions that are made by the majority.
10 clubs in the league, would mean playing each other 3 times, plus cup matches and play off games, I know that this happens to some extent with the magic weekend, but there is a limit to just how many times that clubs wish to play each other.
As stated in previous posts, I have no issue with your club, but it seems that anyone that doesnt share your opinion isn't entitled to an opinion ??
Therefore, I will bid you farewell and leave you to your collective back slapping and bullying
