The vast majority of their "support" are Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton, Blackburn, Manchester City fans living in Wigan who can't afford to watch their team play and so because they can watch a premiership team just go along. If or when Latics eventually tumble down the leagues when Whelan snuffs it or pulls out of Latics or decides he is losing money they will all bugger off elsewhere and wont want to watch a struggling League One Wigan Athletic thrashing it out with Brentford, Yeovil and Exeter. the main lot of fans were congregated in the middle of the sth stand
for the champion team the wigan support was appalling

So approx 12,000 Plastics fans for their biggest game of the season and they say this town is turning blue

Yes it maybe too late as the new breed of tics fan are far far more abusive than the old types but it may calm down the level of vitrol.
