I've got a feeling call it a hunch if you will, that were not going to recruit anyone for next year and will use the same squad as this season, with 2011 being the season when players are brought in. I say this because as time goes by nothings being mentioned, rumors are starting to dry up and the things Lenegan have said for me don't fill me with confidence.

i wouldn't even mind that to be quite honest.

One of the reasons i believe we haven't had consistency over the last few years is the constant changing of players in key positions.

Richards
Mathers
and a few others

HB:
Barrett leaving wasn't expected, Tim Smith etc etc

Hooker:

changed from higham to a much different style hooker in riddell.

Even the wing/centre partnership on the right hand side has changed 5 or 6 times in the last few years.

We've got a young pack, if we ca't get anyone of the right quality in lets go with what we've got, minus bailey and tim smith. Mossop, flanagan et al have proved they can do it.

I would agree that to much chopping and changing isn't good for a team, but I would hope that if this season has taught us anything it's that sometimes were between down the middle. Now obviously the way to remedy that is to bring in another prop which hopefully will be done, as the effects upon the team of recruiting a high quality prop in comparison to not recruiting one could be massive.

I can't think of anyone, yes may have been linked with Griffin but only on here I've not read it anywhere else. We all know that when players sign for clubs it always makes it out before the club officially announce, so I base my assumptions on this that we haven't/ probably wont sign anyone for 2010. Although hopefully things will be made a little clearer come time of the fans forum.

IL needs to address this issue on Wednesday.

One reason we may not have announced anything is that the player contract cattle market date is 1st September so the announcements may not be allowed until after this date even if the deals are done.

Ashton wasn't worth the monies being offered in RU, I seriously doubt any player crossing to RU is worth the equivalent salary in RL.

It is the fans of other clubs who have NO idea of the reasons why the above players left, yet they love to come on here with their factually incorrect arguments against us.
Back on topic, the Scully rumour is just that....or is it? I heard this mentioned in the pub about a week ago from one of the biggest rumour merchants around.

To be fair I could see that, I can't really figure out what his long term position in RL actually is.

I don't see him as a SH, and if that is to be his place, he needs a totally different style of partner than Pryce. I can't really see this and wouldn't be surprised to see Saints bring in a new SH next season to replace Long. He's not a three quarter or a hooker, too small for the forwards... maybe a replacement for Wellens perhaps... which wouldn't surprise me if failing that maybe following Robinsons lead and trying rah rah at full back.

Exciting player no doubt and would certainly enjoy watching him over the years, and would give a selection headache for any team.
