Seems Andy Coley has played pretty well so far being instrumental in a few of our tries. Ainscough has finished them with a bit of class by all accounts and Sam has done superbly in his first try beating Jordan Turner before going past Kirkpatrick with pace. All in all seems like a decent bit of play from us tonight against what is a suffering Salford side

how did myler play for salford, know he got on the score sheet but a few have touted us to sign him for a long term partnership for sam

Was Salford's best player by a distance, still had a good game in defeat and made a couple of clean breaks as well as finishing his two tries well.

just got back after flying down the lancs.

analysis is pretty much that we did not get out of second gear to win this game and in truth we did not need to! we got the ball wide to shaun ainscough alot and he found alot of reward out of salford, as did sam tomkins and mark riddell.

some fantastic moments for me was riddells vision to put ainscough away down the wing, the pass was what we knew he could do and again mark improved.

richards was great at full back, one break in the second half and i dont know how he kept going, handing off the salford winger, falling over, then setting up leuluai for a great try.

Sam Tomkins again was instrumental, 2 50+ meter tries, his first was sublime and his second off a salford error.

Also alot of praise should go to andy coley who looked like he wanted it, he kept the ball alive and at one stage he performed a run around with fielden to put us away down the right! it was a pleasure to watch coley finally playing!

Just got back in.

I thought Ainscough was terrific again and proved he's not only a threat with his running but he knows when to hand the ball on aswell and got a couple of cracking passes away.

Sam Tomkins was very good also and looked to take abit more responsibility tonight especially on the kicking side of things. He is a massive threat everytime he takes the line on and his first try was a joy to watch.

Andy Coley had his best game in a Wigan shirt which shows that motivation is without doubt the guys problem. He has the talent but needs a rocket up his .

Good mentions for Richards, Carmont, Leuluai, Riddell and O'Loughlin also and Prescott did well on his first game back.

Roberts and McIlorum should be back in the side next week as Pryce was poor and din't get involved and Smith still can't defend for toffee but did but a couple of neat passes away.

A good job overall.

oh and Richie Myler is class for Salford. I'd love him in a Wigan shirt.

Agree with the plaudits for Coley who made two great one-handed passes in the first half. Some Salford fans I spoke to said he used to do that all the time when he was a Reds player.

Pryce was pretty quiet I thought. He seemed to be hiding in back play quite a bit rather than looking for work. Maybe he's learnt that trick from Union....

A job well done but room for improvement, esp in defence as we did get opened up to much for my liking

Oh, you know, the usual...Wigan win a game, the fans think they are about to win the grand final until next week when they lose and it's doom and gloom everywhere!

Pryce went missing, I know he picked up a hip injury, but he just didn't seem at all interested. I'd love to see the nunber of carries he made compared to Ainscough,

Coley was superb in the first quarter, Riddel moved the play around perfectly.
An encouraging performance, but Roberts should be back in next week.

He hasn't been too bad so far imo apart from going missing last week against Leeds. He looks to have great footwork and spped but need to impose himself more on games.

I'm confident he'll prove to be a sensational long term buy for us.

I thought we were good but Salford were poor. At times we played some great stuff but at others we were flat as anything. Great games from our youngsters as usual. Richards had one of his best games in a Wigan shirt imo.

Yep, Richard's positioning in fielding kicks was excellent, I think he got every one on the full. His break when shifted to the wing for Tommy's try was memorable. Sam fitted in well at FB as well.

No-one mentioned Hock - some superb offloads kept the attack flowing.

I thought Coley had a good game, however he'll probably now sit back for the rest of the season...prove me wrong Coley come on! Hock thought was good but not as good as he was against Bratfut. Ainsrough committed as ever. Riddell fantastic great outside ball for a break away and maybe try (can't remember). Mickey would never have done that pass. Richards great game, cracking break down the wing reminded me of his old form when he played for Wests.

S.Tomkins did well few good breaks and try. Lockers solid game, Feka/Fielden quiet for them, but still solid. Pryce was disappointing. Smith should be dropped, shying away from far..FAR to many tackles and although didn't make any really bad decisions in attack still, not what we expect from him.

How did Pryce go missing? He was hardly used and the ball went almost 90% of the time down Ainscough’s side! I thought with the little ball he had he did pretty well, especially the one good run which he injured his hip he also bounced a few players off on a few kick returns. He put in a few big hits in defence and generally had his opposite winger in his back pocket on defensive kick throughs. To say he went missing is very unfair on him.

In regards to other aspects of the game it seemed they carved us up down the middle far too many times and a lot of the time Smith was one of the tacklers they broke through. Mcilorum was one of our only good players last week and defiantly deserves game time next week. Smith has to learn how to defend as he’s being targeted now.

Coley ripped them apart with some strong runs and good offloads especially in the first half. He’s had a good few weeks now and long may it continue.

Can’t believe how well Joel and Sam combined towards the end of the 2nd half. Joel again looked lively and defiantly deserves some time at 13 going forward from next week.

Riddell also had his 2nd best game this season after the Bradford game. He looked lively, put also put a good miss pass to Ainscough early on which lead to a try and he generally bossed the ruck area with a varied display of runs and a variety of long and short passes.

Pat also started to make more yards on the kick returns and almost seemed to have that Radlinski ability of knowing where their kicks were going to drop. One negative point was he seemed not to back himself when running down the wing for the last try. Yes we scored via Tommy from Pat’s break but I’d still like to see someone like Pat put his head down and go for the corner. Same can be said of Ainscough who at one point was one on one with Kirkpatrick and managed to confuse himself as he changed direction that many times. Some times you can’t get a better option than just pinning your ears back and going for the corner flag.

And then there'll be those for whom hating Wigan is so full-time an occupation that they won't care how bitter, twisted and prattish they make themselves look on public message boards as they never come back to defend their idiotic posts because no defence is possible. Just having got it off their chest about Wigan will suffice, and will more than make up for the fact that they won't be getting a shag tonight - AGAIN.
