What's your point?

| Quote ="Eastbourne Warrior"I'll ignore the trolling parts of the post and answer sensibly.
What would you do as his coach? It's a difficult one for Wane. I doubt he will need to say much if anything to Flower as he l'll bee feeling bad enough without his coach having a pop.
Whatever his private feelings, and I've no doubt he'll be pretty pi**ed off with Flower at the moment, he can't be too critical however can't defend him either.
I think it was a sensible decision by Wane not to do a post match interview as his emotions would probably have led him to say so etching he would regret. If I were him I'd simply answer the referee dealt with flower correctly and he will accept the punishment the diciplinary decide is appropriate.'"
Wane is not the greatest loser the world has ever seen so I don't think its any surprise he hasn't made any interviews, as for Flower I made some pretty cheap shots on people when I played but what he did tonight made me look like an angel. I don't think he will but for me he should get a 6 month ban from the start of next season as a minimum.

Agree with this. I've always begrudgingly liked sts and enjoyed the banter at knowsley road.
Wilderspool/halliwell jones is always horrible and I've always hated Warrington far more than sts

All my mates are Wigan Fans and they have been saying Wane has been going overboard with this Wigan v Saints "warfare", losing to Saints in a final is not an option for him, he will be kicking everybody's dog in the morning.

| The number of people falling over the selves to blame Wayne and the other players for Flower's actions is laughable. Westwood did something very similar last year to Blake Green, except Westwood wasn't provoked by having an elbow in the face, it was pure and simple tactics. He got 2 games, but Flower, Wane and the rest of the Wigan team must receive nothing less than the death penalty.

| Wane never played the game in that way, at least I don't remember him doing so. I wouldn't imagine he'd be too impressed. But I wouldn't expect any coach to comment publically on one of his own players who'd behaved similarly in the immediate aftermath of a game though.

Whether it was truly tactics or not, for this to happen in the week after the heavily publicised "Warriors Down Under" documentary and Wane's questionable half time speech in New Zealand, it is bound to be brought up.
Rightly or wrongly, a vast majority of people will expect that Wane offered some sort of pre-match speech that was akin to the Warriors friendly, especially in a Grand Final against "THEM".
And Westwood's attack was a shot in a tackle that could (and did) hit Green in the head. Flower could hardly miss on a dazed Hohaia. They are not comparable.

Nothing like Benny's incident, at least Green was conscious when he walloped. Flowers assault was thuggery of the highest order. LH couldn't even see it coming. If that was outside a pub on a Saturday night, he would be doing 6 months for GBH.

If Ben Westwood had broken someone's cheekbone outside a oub on a Saturday night he'd also be looking at doing time. The way some people can forgive thuggery as long as it isn't a Wigan player doing it says a lot.

Whereas Flower's Mortal Kombat "Finish Him" punch was justifiable given his "evener" to lay Hohaia out?

None. But if he's conscious and on the floor there are plenty of excuses apparently.

It wasn't a cheap shot or thuggish though - I can't understand why people are going with that narrative.
He reacted to Lance's niggle. You see that every week in RL.
What made it unique was that he knocked him out with the first punch. He didn't realise this and did what every Rugby player does and followed up when he hit the ground. Watching it in slow motion doesn't put the incident in to context at all.
He'll get a ban for the punch. Anything more is Red Hall bowing to media and fan pressure, which they obviously will because they're incompetent.

| Flowers was bang out of order and he'll regret that floor punch for the rest of his life. In his defence he got badly clobbered in the face by Hohaia and would have probably seen the red mist.
That floor punch was too far but how many people could honestly say that they would be in total control moments after a grevious attack to the head.

Exactly! Everybody is outraged that Hohaia was out before the second punch. That is the issue here. If not we would have applauded Flower's act of retribution...
Sarcasm mode over. A scuffle followed by a shove followed by a punch is "perhaps" understandable. That second punch was cowardly, conscious or not, and anyone defending it will surely shake their head when they re-read this in the cold light of day...

| Just back from the game and seen the incident on the half time review by Wells and Carney.
Wells draws attention to the fact that Hohaia instigated the incident by running in and belting Flower to the jaw with his forearm. Flower, by his reaction, obviously took it that Hohaia intended breaking his jaw. Flower reacts and punches Hohaia as he stands and then again when the Saints player in on the ground.
It certainly looked from that TV replay like Hohaia was the instigator and Flower the one who reacted.
Flower sent off correctly, Hohaia, the instigator, not dealt with at all.
That's how it looks from the SKY TV output.

At the end of the day Flower hit a man on the deck who was already out. He is a coward and hopefully will have the book thrown at him.

You missed the bit where Flower hit Lance on the way past in order to get to the ball, which is what Lance reacted to!

| Can't believe some are trying to justify a cowardly attack on a unconscious player. Should be banned 6 month from start of season. Regarding the match Wigan put in a sterling show but saints just about deserved it
