It's not something I'd cry out about but I don't believe he should have the opportunity to wear the badge so soon after committing to another club & sport so recently regardless of the occasion and the welfare of career/financial interests.

Don't get me wrong, I don't blame Joel for making the switch as a player should not be ridiculed for the personal ambitions but in my opinion he made his decision and should not be granted the honor of representing Wigan if he is contractually & personally committed elsewhere.

Having said that, if it's what Lockers wants then fair enough but I wouldn't be cheering his name nor celebrating his return.

It would be agonising to see Joel turn out in a Wigan shirt again, only to know that can't have him for the games that really matter. But it would be even more agonising if some bloody fools were to start booing. That really would lower us to the level of Leeds fans.

Lockers testimonial is for his 10yrs service to rugby league and should not be open to those who defect....in my opinion.

I for one would be on my feet and applaud the lad.
He has paid us back over the last few years for our investment in him and has now got to think of his own future. It would be great to see him on the field one last time for us and I think many others would feel the same way.

i think thats going a bit too far. hes hardly a wigan legend and had 2 maybe 3 good seasons in the first team. i wouldnt boo him but id be more interested in Rad's return that Joel's

Possibly, however alot of people still remember Joel signing a 5yr contract only to walk away from it a couple of months later. As for paying us back, if one try in a cup final is payback then...fair enough i guess.

Whilst I wouldn't ever boo a Wigan player myself, I can understand those who would (although not in the context of a testimonial). I certainly wouldn't applaud him.

"Defect"! He's a young lad earning the best living he can, not a spy for goodness' sake. Good luck to him. He played well for us and I hope he continues to play well, wherever he moves on to.

If Lockers wants him to play and the lads willing to I think that's fair enough. He's been a good (not great) player for Wigan who's left for more money and to experience living in a big city. He's done what 99% of people would do in his situation.

To boo him would be ridiculous but he also doesn't deserve huge fan fair. He'll get warm applause from myself and the majority I'd guess.

Whilst im not going to boo Joel and I dont blame him for taking the money, I think this comment is ridiculous. Joel doesnt even compare to Farrell. Not one bit. Farrell gave his absolute all to this club and left when he had no more to give, Joel signed a 5 year contract and then broke it after 5 months. The situations dont even come close as being the same.

I wouldnt want joel to play , but if he did i would not boo him. Its never going to happen anyhow.
