Is that up-to-date? I'm sure I read somewhere that George Burgess was in the squad - one of the few Bulls Academy lads to impress me when we've played them.

The Wigan Evening Post strikes again - Today's edition still states that the game will take place in Barrow on Saturday
How can they get it so wrong, when the match is now taking place just down the road in Leigh
The article outlines that Madge may be cheering for the English lads on Saturday owing to the Wigan contingent - let's hope that he doesn't follow WEP's detail too closely and end up at Barrow

I just thought he hadn't been selected, he played in Wigans U18's last season.
Are you going today?
I'll be in the Park Inn Hotel by the ground about 1 p.m.

I don't know how it works but he did turn 19 in August I think. So he could have played Under 18s before that.
I am going yeah but don't think I'll have time to go the pub.

| Anybody who was available for u18's last season was eligible.
How many of the Wigan lads are still available for the u18's next season? The Evans twins from Warrington are but O'Brien and Laithwaite (and Shaw from the squad) won't be able to play u18's next year - although O'Brien and Laithwaite haven't played for the u18's for two seasons anyway so there is nothing new there.

Don't you have to be 18 or under on 31st August 2010 to play U18 in 2011?

| England 38 Australia 30
Laithwaite had a good game.
George Burgess and Sam Powell were outstanding.
Rhys Evans sadly had a poor game by his standard. His wing partner Reece Lynne was terrible, considering he has had Superleague experience. He dropped the ball over the try line and then ran into touch whilst in the act of scoring with no one near him.
Englands scorers were Powell(2), King, Bridge, Sarsfield and Thompson with O'Brien kicking seven goals.
England should have been out of site by half time (Ganson crucified the Aussies).

| agrees reece lynne did have a very poor game. putting his foot into touch in the act of scoring. Although he did not drop the ball it was knocked out of his hand just as he was going to put it down. good defending caused the ball to come free.

England probably won the forward battle, but that may have been due to the sin binnings. I've never seen an Australian side so indisciplined.
The Aussie hooker and stand off both impressed plus the 16 who looks like a South Sea Islander.

Thanks for that.
The hooker Chad Redman was one of Newcastle Knights stars in last seasons under 20 NYC team, The standoff Jack Wighton plays for the Canberra Raiders, classy player too.
The Aussie props Groat and Grevsmuhl are awesome players, i didn't think England would match them there so well done to them.

| Great result, and good from a Wigan point of view that some of our players were pivotal in England winning that game.
Never really heard much said about Powell on here, but hopefully he can continue to develop and join Sam and Mellor in the first team within the not to distant future.
Congratulations to the England team.

That doesn't surprise me - he was outstanding in both the the Reserves games v Bradford, and was probably MoM when they beat us at Orrell.
Great result for the lads, though, and well done especially to the Wigan contingent.
