fanatastic news. its really noticable when hes not on the pitch. his professionalism is spot on and his work ethic is second to none. really looks after himself. not only that but he will be a good role model for the younsters coming through

Hope this is true. He's been putting in consistant preformences all season and looks happy again. He's been a huge part of what the club has done so far this season and to lose him just as he hits good form would have been a blow.

He's never been quite as bad as some make out in the main but he's obviously been well short of the old Stuart Fielden for the vast majority of his time here but now he's found a level where he's playing very well and just looks comfortable with himself. He looked abit hard on himself over the past couple of years and that never helped him.

I did some work up at Orrell about 3 years ago. After training had finished all the lads bar Stu went getting changed and for food. He stayed behind on his own working out in the gym.

With regards to the contract i would expect it to be similar to Carmont with him having to play a certain number of games in the second year or we have the option to keep him on. Big Stu has played well this season but i don't think he has been as bad as people have made out. Sometimes he gets pumped up too much like he did at home to Leeds and made mistakes but he looks like he is playing with a smile on his face and enjoying his rugby again. One thing about Fielden this year with not too much Feka is that he does not need to do Fekas tackling. Keep Fielden and Coley on and get rid of Feka. We do not want to lose our 8,9 and 10 in one hit with Piggy going home and nothing announced on Coley.

Keeping Fielden on for a further three years is great business if he's on a lower wage. Not only will you get a couple more years playing wise out of him but he will help bring Davies on to be the leading prop at Wigan in years to come.

Good deal as far as I can see. If he really has agreed to halve his wage it means we have a pretty sixeable chunk of cap space to use. Also a good gesture from Stu to admit that he's not been worth what he's been getting paid. Fair play to him for that

Where does it say he has agreed to half his wage? it says on a reduced contract That might be 10K a year who knows

I cant see it being half otherwise he could of gone somewhere else for just as much on a 2 year deal. It will be reduced but only by 25% max imo.

All i know is that Lenegan wont pay anywhere near over the odds for him, so if we have managed to get him on a reduced contract for 3 years is fantastic business, us as fans shouldnt worry about the money.

Who'd have thought at the start of the season that everyone would be delighted with Fielden being signed up for the next few years. When the chips have been down this year, I feel both him and Coley have stood up at times, which can only benefit us.

Great News for Stuart and the club. Maybe with a lower contract many fans can actually fully support him instead of supporting him with gritted teeth because of his wages.

I hope he earnes what he deserves and we can move on and talk about Stuart Fielden without the need for money to be brought up in every sentence.

Stuart never gives less than 100% for the team.. He just has not played his best (neither did many under noble). With Stuart's commitment and skill under MM then I can see him only improving over the next few years.
