With Tierney and Burgess both off at half time, our 3/4s ended up being:

Gelling ( worlds slowest winger)
Joel Tomkins ( shouldn't even be playing second row post knee ops let alone centre)
Isa (second row playing centre)
Marshall ( rookie on debut in terrible conditions)


Had to play most of the game with only 2 on the bench that was reduced to 1 when Sutton went off.

Thought Leigh would have exploted that. Wouldn't have scored if we were still playing now. Never troubled us in attack.

You all come over here and spout off about how you beat us in a meaningless friendly and then you make a big song and dance about us not being gracious on our OWN BOARD about beating a team and keeping them scoreless. Effectively shutting you up and putting you in your place. All the opposition fans are the same. They demand that we wax lyrical about their team because praise from Wigan fans just because we are Wigan. Its just another show of envy. We just beat a side and kept them scoreless, a side that were very poor. You beat a terrible Saints team. A team that i predicted a bad season for and the start of a long decline. Although before the season began their deluded fans seemed to think Morgan and Douglas were going to be the difference to bringing them success. So to summarise, if you come over here expecting us to be gracious then dont come on here berrating us every single time you win a pointless friendly. It cuts both ways. Been nice all week, when the adults from Leigh were posting...

Bad conditions for both teams losing Tierney and Budgie forced us into a forwards game down the middle .To nil ANY team is an achievement regardless of whom they are . Overall satisfied with the win was never going to be a spectacle Leigh have plenty of guts but will the step up to SL be too much for them.

A good win for you guys, in poor conditions. I was well impressed with your defence. Even when the game was dead and buried, and we finally put on some attacking plays, your guys defended as though the result was in doubt. Had it been dry, we may have played with more confidence - but then so might you!

I guess the numerous injuries didn't help you in attack, but didn't seem to hinder your defensive organisation.

For our part, we have to be concerned about our limited attack, but our defence was pretty good too. I would have settled for only conceding three tries at your place - one after a freakish collision, between three players, then two moments of class and brilliance from George Williams. That final try was worth the admission money alone - although the weather wasn't!



One little moan - your website needs to be updated on which car parks can/can't be used. It implies that car park 4 is ok, to pay on - but in fact it is reserved, along with car park 3, for Wigan permit holders. However, we thought the view, from high up in the East Stand, was fantastic - and dry, unlike some grounds!

In those conditions it's good game management Tony , something we have lacked and still do to a degree

Maybe Leigh would have tried the same had they got into our 20m zone however they rarely got there. I know the "nil" hurts but it ain't gonna go away

It was, I was listening on Wish and it sounded like it was bouncing for most of the game.

It was a good atmosphere until the police had to be called to the soccerdome area after the game

Much will depend on how you aim up after such a testing match. Invariably, teams raise their game against Wigan and then struggle the following week, it will be interesting to see how you respond against Huddersfield.

Might well be , but SL seems a little bit strange at the minute , so who knows

I think ( and hope!) you'll make top 8. The other contenders for 7th and 8th are fairly unconvincing, especially with Leeds, Warrington and Saints looking so abysmal.
