Would be a massive blow to lose Fielden and Tommy. I know Fieldens not played this season but we would be much stronger with him. Those two players are part of what I would call the 'Core' of the team.

Given Wigan agreed to his demand for a two year contract last year and the fact he's been injuried for most of the season so far, if this is true I'd tell him to feck right off.

Wild rumour, I wouldn't believe it.

Mark Gasnier will retire from the St George-Illawarra Dragons at the end of this season. Great player but a shame he wasted a few years in France.

can't see that being the end of him as professional rugby player unless he has a major injury I don't know about. Will be interesting to see if he goes back to union, maybe the cash cow japan.

I've heard he was pushed into it by Dragons. Quality centre with tons of experience.

Oh and Hoffman back to Storm.

Personally I think all but O'Carrol and Davies will and should leave. Coley and Deacon are on their last legs literally. Their body's just aren't up to doing another year IMO.

Personally I dont rate Davies and I think Castleford loan is his last chance saloon, unless he shows the commitment and drive that he wants to succeed - Like Tuson has done - then I think this will be the end of the road at Wigan for him.

I also think Deacon has one more year in him at least! Carmont is more on his last legs than Deacon is and he's just re-signed.

Next year we are not that well off for front rowers as the list sugggests. A couple of injuries and we could struggle. I don't see the point of spending so much money on developing Davies and then allowing him to go. I'd re-sign him.
Crosby will surely stay.
Can't see either O'Carroll or Pryce staying although Karl has spent the season at Quins. Eamon's future may depend on how he ends the year. Injury free and he may get a one year deal. Get an injury and he could be released.
Coley and Deacon may both retire. With Hoffman leaving then the re-signing of Carmont makes even more sense.
Coley, Deacs and Hoff and very experienced players. Losing three is bad enough but four would almost a quarter of the first 17 departing.
Next season could let us see how valuable our junior develoment has been over the years. More than one or two maybe required for first team duties.

Hasn't he got a couple of years left to run on his contract Down Under? If he's retiring, he's got to retire - he can't just up sticks to the UK.

It'll be interesting to see how the club go about replacing Hoffman if they do at all. The depth in that backrow is massive and we may target a centre now to replace him with Joel heading back into the pack.

I said a few weeks ago that it's so hard to predict what positions we need to sign in until we know exactly who's staying and who's leaving. Since then we've found out Carmont is staying on and Hoff is going so things are coming a little bit clearer. We keep hearing rumours about Tommy going with Maguire and if that does happen we'll need to sign a seriously good player to replace him.

Even players with the reputation of Gasnier would have to play very well for them to work out a better signing then Carmont. I don't know why but something seems to have just clicked for him here and he seems to have found his ideal club. I always wonder if we think he's been so good because expectations were low but it really isn't, he's just been exceptional for us and we'd think that if he was on 50k or 200k per season.

It will take a very good player on top of his game to replace Carmont because he's been magic.

with all these experienced players leaving/retiring this season i hope we have at least 2 experienced players coming, i reckon we'll be knackered if we are relying on what we will have left and a handful of inexperienced (at SL level) youngsters, hopefully a prop, halfback & can be found, with Joel rejoining the forwards
