The trouble is while there was no mention of the Ba Baas game in the sports headlines of the Telegraph I looked at there was mention of how much money the RFU made last year and it is a fortune. Something like £136m and most of it comes from events at Twickers both RU and when used for other stuff. They even got £8.7m from a Virgin Gym/Leisure club! Given the mess highlighted in the press there is every chance they will fling that money at RL players. We would have been far better off had they won the world cup.

That is the retained profit, operating profit was 40 million.Those figures had next to nothing to do with the world cup, but was driven by the the fact they had a successful six nations tournament with 3 home games and 4 autumn internationals instead of the usual 3. Next years figures will see a significant downturn in revenue since there were no autumn internationals in 2011 because of the world cup and they have one less six nations game at Twickenham.

Well after the booing by other fans being effectively killed off given his England performances and also due to the support of just about everyone involved in the game, playing RU will probably have turned some against him again. If he cares that much about the booing then given[uhe did not need to play in this game[/u he has left himself wide open to criticism. If he gets any it is his own fault and can't be used as an excuse for moving on sooner or later. Can you imagine the positive PR he would have got if he actually turned it down?



As a contracted Wigan player he should not be allowed to play other sports which could get him injured which is the normal situation with any contracted player. All there should be too it really.
