Of course we are an insignifcant little club here at Wigan aren't we.

It might be success enough for you, small club fan, but us bigger club fans prefere winning trophys. Hence super league is considered a barren period for Wigan.

See, this is where you start to sound silly. Neither you nor anyone else can predict the future. Who would have predicted Bradford's change from whipping boys to all-conquerors at the start of SL, for example?

Wigan games at home are easy, Wigan aren't a challenge anymore



Seriously though, there is no doubting Wigan's success in the past and there are numerous ways to assess "success" with arguments for and against each.

Neither club has been overly successful in the last 5 years, Wigan edge it on final league position and semi final appearances, Warrington edge it on semi final wins

and trophies. Off the top of my head, results have been fairly even between us over the same period.

Needless to say, both clubs are some way behind acheiving the feats of Saints, Leeds and Bradford in the SL era, so let's try and aim for them, before we start bragging about the biggest club in the world title.

I chose 5 years as it's a nice round number. I could have said 3 years, which I'm sure the RFL were using during franchise applications based on league positions

Only a super massive club like warrington could have won that comp..i remember sat in wembley surrounded by 30 thousand wire fans who had never missed a game since RL was formed only 2 week previous.

All i can say is jealous was running through my body.

In true reflection this is one of the reasons i like this game. Two opposing sets of fans in light hearted banter and non of the violent patheticness of wendyball.
I just hope this game lives up to its billing.
