No. The signing is still going to happen.

Just register him anyway subject to work permits.

Wouldn't count on the cap unless he was cleared to sign for the club.

Like I said, I heard early on in the season that he was off home at the end of the season but since then Tommy himself has quashed the rumour and Ian Lenegan announced at the last fans forum that he had extended his contract. I know its possible that players change their mind or circumstances change etc but Lenegan doesn't strike me as the kind of person that would lie to the fans.

If Tommy goes i'd like to see us sign another hooker to help develop Logan and McIlorum.

I'd also like us to sign Paul Deacon for one more year and rotate him and Mellor throughout the year.

If Tommy does go I'd hope IL would do everything to bring Chase to the club.

I hear the stuff about him off to Leyds but surely he'd prefer to come to us than that (current) shambles?

If we lose Leuluai and Deacon then we're in a bit of trouble. They form an integral part of the creative fulcrum of the side as well as giving us much needed direction across the park. I think we lose shape when one of these players are not on the pitch. I wouldn't be so nonchalant about the prospect of losing both Deacon and Leuluai. In time Mellor and Logan Tomkins could prove to be suitable replacements, but both players need drip feeding into the team and not just thrown in.

I like Rangi Chase and think he is one of the front contenders for Man Of Steel this year. Certainly one of the best halfbacks in the league and will move on to a bigger club with more ambition than Castleford. However I'm not sure if his 'off the cuff' style of play would fit into our more rigid, somewhat mechanical structures that we vigilantly abide by every week.

I hope all these Leuluai rumours are false. Losing him along with Deacon are two players I'd hate to try to replace.

Russell Crowe can buy us Rangi Chase if he likes and maybe throw some extra cash in for Daryl Clark aswell to back up Micky Mac.

Hull KR not offering Shaun Briscoe a new contract? Bloody hell, what's gone on there? He'd be a cracking signing for Widnes.

It would seem a good move for him. He can move back closer to his own and his wifes families and probably get a well paid, long-ish term deal.

A couple of years back we'd have loved to have him back here but his games really struggled these past couple of years.

heard a rumour that Fielden wants to play in Australia next year and has/will possibly asked for an early release. Like I said it could be just rumour but this person is usually in the know. Anyone heard similar?

Why would an NRL club want him?

he was being chased by an NRL club last year when his contract was up - fact not rumour.

cant remember - think it was a Sydney club. It was in an Aus newspaper and Fielden himself said this in an interview that he had a few options one being in Australia.
