I'm with you tbh. Don't get me wrong I think he's got more to give but I don't think his form is horrendous by any stretch. If anything I actually think he's playing a bit better over the past month or so.

| He doesn't do enough minutes plus he always appears to be the dummy runner. He needs to up his game time and his involvement when he is on.

Mainly defensive, the same way Waney uses all our props. Tackle hard and slow down the PTB. In attack, draw in as many tacklers as possible and aim for a quick PTB. Not rocket science.

Or maybe he is playing to instructions from the coach. Wane has stated several times in the past he has a specific game plan for his props. I like to see the props making yards but ours, whoever they are have never done that under Wane. We tend to have a set of props, none of which playing big minutes.

| FPN hasn't been as bad as say Eddie Pettybourne. I'd say he has been about as good as Jeff Lima in his first season. But for an overseas player with a big reputation, I suppose we expected a lot more from him than he has delivered. I think we expected to see someone as good as Hill or Walmsley or even Taylor, but he isn't a patch on them.
Regardless of Wane's methods he should have been better when he does run with the ball. He does have a quick PTB when he is on song, but he struggles to dominate and gets stopped by the first contact regularly.

Not rocket science no, but it does appear to be quantum physics to FPN. The guys is earning big bucks and should be giving a lot more on the field than he does.

So why pay good money for an international prop forward and then not have any game plan for him? it doesn't make sense. We may as well spend money on someone from division one and get them to follow the no game plan approach and save money to boot.

| When someone comes across from the NRL with a reputation along with the tag line "wrecking ball" you'd at least expect that player to make the hard yards, bust tackles and require 3-4 opposition players to bring him down.
Steve 'zip zip man' Ella - we got what was said on the tin.
Steve 'The Pearl' Renouf - another classy player.
Whilst he went okay on Friday in parts, he should have been our 'go forward' in our time of need. However yet again the lesser named Tautai outshone him as he has done all season.

Bingo. I don't claim to be a expert in defensive structures but it appears to me that a lot of breaks/tries seem to happen through gaps either side of him as well. Cas looked like they were targeting him a lot due to his fitness.

| If FPN is leaving at the end of the season this should allow a pay rise for Tautai, he deserves one, easily our best prop ATM.

That's quite a bit of salary available for a replacement(s).

Add Greg "The Wall" Dowling to that list, FPN should watch a few DVD's of Greg playing.

| FPN certainly hasn't lived up to his reputation, but I don't think he's been as bad as "some" have made out. For some reason he seems to be better in his second spell, and was very good at Wakefield when he wasn't used as the starting prop. Maybe a swap around, with Tautai starting, would help?

| He's not as fit as he was when he was playing 13 for the Roosters. I see those pictures of him squaring up to Micky Mac and he looks in great shape compared to now.
As I've already posted I don't think he's playing too badly but there's no doubt he's got more to give. Him being fitter is a part of that imo.

| Do we think that we'll bring another prop in?
Our front line props of FPN, TT, Sutton and Navarrette are decent enough, but i wouldn't mind seeing another body brought in to cover / rest guys if needed. Even if we signed a run of the mill type forward who isn't anything spectacular it would at least be another body in the squad - Gil Dudson seems to be in a bit of decent form, could he have a 2nd chance perhaps?

I understand where you are coming from but IMO we the numbers in terms of props are ok with the guys you mentioned plus Bretherton and Lockers/J.Tomkins/Isa who can all drop in at prop once we have a full compliment of back rowers. I'd rather use game time on players who are going to develop and stay with us than ones we have already decided aren't good enough. They don't appear to be performing though, as they didn't this time last year to be fair.

I'd probably agree with that under normal circumstances, but with our current injury situation i just think we need one more established SL level player to take the load off everyone & give us more options.
Like you said there's players than can drop in at prop, but we aren't far off a situation where we might see Lockers playing at 6 and one more injury in the backline means Joel or Isa being moved out of the pack. When that's happened in the past we've seen Flower move to 13 or Sutton has played in the 2nd row. We can't simply do that with only four front line props.

Am I right in thinking Macauley Davies and Kyle Shelford are still out on loan? Maybe we should look at recalling them. Is Connor Farrell still at the club?

I'm not sure, but not disrespect to the lads you can't just throw young props in for an extended run. It will probably give them some confidence, but i don't think it would help the whole team out.
