No but I'm led to believe we've out sold Leeds quite considerably. I'm not going into figures but personally I think our sales are very good considering it's over in Yorkshire.

Think you may have misread what I wrote there Bilks. We(as in Wigan) are being reported by Leeds fans will outnumber them(as in Leeds) by 5-1.

| Quote ="Odem"Why? It would add another event to the RL calandar. The current semi-finals are total non-events, they actually make the sport look bad.
The only empty seats would be on the top tier IMO. If Wigan played in the first semi-final, would people not stay on to see who we will meet in the final? Especially if the other game involved big teams.
For the earlier rounds I would like to see all games involving a team from a lower league being played at the home of the lower placed team. The crowds at super league grounds are generally poor and the revenue and exposure for the smaller clubs would be great to see.'"
I just don't think we should be looking at a double header for a semi final. The games should sell themself. If Leeds fans won't travel to Huddersfield, why would they travel to Manchester? Also by doing that you are taking income away from the rugby league grounds that could have hosted a semi final.
I am often critical of the RFL but these tickets were reasonably priced and at a sensible location. The only thing that seems to be preventing a decent turn out is the attitude of some of the fans. I'm excited for this game anyway!

| Nobody has really mentioned the 5:30 kickoff time yet, i have a mate not going because he's got plans for Saturday night and a game that finishes just after 7pm and not getting back home until around 8pm has meant he's not able to go. Had it been kicking off around 2pm-3pm he would of been going.
Unfortunately though they're SOME not going because they say we might get ''hammered and embarrassed'', apparently the possiblity of 17 guys getting several tries scored past them can make them blush. And these 'fans' are usually the slighty older ones that often talk about the good old days when ''men were men''.

I agree that the attitude of RL fans is poor. That is why marketing these games is so important.
If the games should sell themselves, why should any RL clubs bother having a marketing team?
The pricing was spot on for this game.... but if Wigan can advertise around town, make TV adverts, put together a proper marketing campaign for their big games.. all on a lower budget than the RFL, then what on earth are the RFL doing to marketing the big games?
The GF is the one which sells itself. For Wembley and internationals they send info to people who are ALREADY RL FANS.... and for the magic weekend they do a decent job to get so many people to a failing concept.
The semi-finals have nothing.

| We need to get our 5 in the morning and I'm guessing there may be a few more people who've not rushed.
Hopefully there's time for the crowd to become respectable yet.

Well it already is from our end. Leeds are letting us down. They have taken well over 10k to Hudds for a semi in the past. They will have around 4k for this one.

Not even that.. the half that Leeds have on the touchline holds 4139 i believe, and could have just given us that for the game at this rate.

| Top tier of stand behind sticks now open and Leeds fans can pay on day in this stand.
Also, didnt realise this but RFL site says top tier of touchline stand 'currently not on sale'.

Are you sure they weren't just taking the p[ii[/iss out of your 'ancient & loyal' fans?
Edit: Ok maybe not having just read our thread.
I've chosen a weekend in Skegness over this one. Never really fancied it since they announced the Galpharm as the venue, that and its been about 6 months since the quarters - I cant even remember who we played!

| From what I heard yesterday we've now sold out the lower tier and also there's only a few remaining in the side blocks. That's why they've had to open the upper tier presumably for the walk ups.

| The top tier of the Direct Golf UK Stand is closed, for both teams, Which would hold about 4138, The Britainia Resue Stand is closed, which holds 7'000, which is quite shocking. That would mean Wigan were given over 6k (4054 in away stand, and 2069 Direct Golf UK Stand bottom tier), and Leeds given about 7k (2069 from Direct Golf UK Stand bottom tier and 5'170 in the Fantastic Media Stand). Leeds have only just opened the top tier of the Fantastic Media Stand, which holds about 3k of this stand. Tickets will be available on the day in the top tier of the Fantastic Media Stand.

| Still think when times are hard they should look to the double headers, two for one in a 30k stadium, could have put it in Birmingham area or South Yorkshire. Allocate 6.5k per team leave some for the neutrals, expansion, cost saving, value for money and competitive games all rolled in to one.
The game shouldn't need double headers but i think a bit of realism needs injecting, it would be great if we could fill two decent sized stadiums with two games we can sell off to the media for a profit, but it isn't happening, so help the fans out and plan accordingly.

| How about getting rid of the neutral venue and tossing a coin for home advantage? YOu'd think the fans of whoever lost would get ther in force to shout their team on. Or maybe allocate tickets slightly differently? Just a crazy thought.
